Rogers - 1 month left in plan - what to do?
Whooo... all these recent hot deals over the last few days has got me thinking that I GOT to get rid of Rogers asap. So, what I was wondering, before I take the plunge to this upcoming Mobilicity promo or something, what do I do about my Rogers 3-year plan? I only have about a month left in it (Sept. 18). What is the most logical plan of action? If I port the number asap, is Rogers going to freak out with ECFs or will they just still charge me till Sept., which I can simply tell them adios at that date? Do I need to tell them I'm porting or will the new carrier handle it? I have 2 phones on this plan which cost ~$80 total per month. So, if Rogers will go crazy on me with ECF, I'd just rather pay the extra month, even though I'm switched to another carrier. How should this work?

rogers will charge you 20.00 per line.
the ecf is 20.00 per month remaining.

I recommend calling Rogers to find out about the ECF. As per my previous Rogers contract, I could not port my number until 12:01am of the day after my contract expires.
For example, if my contract expires December 31, 2011, I could port my # without an ECF as of January 1, 2012 at 12:01 am. Even if I give them 30 days notice that I intend to leave, my phone # must be active on their system as of December 31, 2011. This mean no porting until January 1, 2012 to avoid ECF.
