Rogers blocking fileape.com?

A few days ago my iPhone stopped connecting to the website fileape.com
I could get on it on every other computer including my home, just not with 3g on my iPhone (wifi on iPhone yes)
Today I can't access the webpage with out a proxy on my home pc.

Is rogers blocking fileape? Or is fileape blocking rogers?

UPDATE April 28th
Looks like the problem is over now

DNS issue maybe? Try changing the DNS servers you use, google provides 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

Or try going right to their IP
75.126.64.125 (this works on my rogers phone, so it's probably just that the site changed their IP addresses and rogers DNS hasn't been updated yet)

There are many other file cyber lockers. Have you tried Fileserve; Filesonic; MediaFire; Megaupload...?

Yes, it is confirmed that Rogers has blocked fileape website. if you use other service provider, you will have no problem. Rogers manipulate their customers. it's totally unfair. we paid them to use internet. it should be our freedom to go to any website we want!

Well that would explain why I can't access it on my iPhone at home, but it works fine when I'm around campus. Stupid Rogers

I was just googling this question and came back to my favourite site. Exact same situation (campus wifi works).

Any chance the big red keeps tabs on what sites you go on 3G since it seems that they to have too much time on their hands?

What about 3Web (best of the 3)? I'm looking for some REAL high speed internet with no cap or reasonable cap.

Thanks.

Rogers is really starting to get to me... Thank god I at least have our phones switched over to bell, and if I found another ISP that had 50 megabit/sec internet connects for $99 then I'd be switching from Rogers for that to. I think they are really crossing the line with this one, actively blocking websites now, and fileape is just one of a million file sharing services used for many legit file sharing systems, it's not like it's some kiddy porn site they are blocking here.

Ok well if anyones interested I just thought of a quick fix to get the website working properly again on your iPhones/iPads but they'll need to be jailbroken. Just a way to manually have the fileape.com domain point to the correct ip instead of asking Rogers todo it.

So just install 'iFile' from cydia, then open it. Just browse all the way to the root '/', then open the folder/link named 'etc', then scroll down and click on the file named 'hosts' to open it and select to open it in the text viewer. After it opens click the edit button at the top. Then just scroll down to the bottom of the file and add these 3 lines:

----[Add These 3 Below Lines]----

75.126.64.125 fileape.com
75.126.64.125 www.fileape.com
75.126.64.125 *.fileape.com

-------------------------------------

Then just click the done button and exit ifile and that's it, fileape.com will work properly now. Though you made need to reboot your iphone/ipad for it to start working in some cases.

You can actually add these 3 lines to your windows hosts file as well to get fileape to start working on your pc again. The hosts file on windows should be located here 'c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\' and the file will be named just 'hosts'. Just open it in notepad to edit it.

Anyway I hope this helps anyone looking for a fix. Though keep in mind if fileape ever changes there ip then you'll need to modify it with there new server ip. :)

EDIT:

Ok I just realized the above method may not work. It will work to allow you to goto fileape.com and www.fileape.com and load the main website and file download pages, however when you actually goto initiate a file download from fileape it redirects you to the file download location on one of there many mirrors on one of there subdomains. For example when downloading a file it redirects you to the download at say "http://tx22.fileape.com/nu/BurwfpNPibTS ... ,/file.zip" and since that subdomain "tx22.fileape.com" is actually located at a different ip then the above ip listed it won't work. I suppose it is possible for someone to go ping each of there subdomains and get each of there ip's one by one and then adding those entries to the hosts file but I'm not going to go threw all that right now, it's much easier for me to just turn off my iPhone wifi whenever I need to use fileape so it will use my phones 3G data connection threw bell to connect to it. Though if anyone does do it then it would be great if they posted the subdomains & there ip's for everyone here.
