could you provide some details (services + cost)?johntitor2036 wrote: ↑I did it the other day. after canceling I waited a week due to the fact that I wasn't even around to call because i was busy. Then when I was finally able to call I left a message and they called me back within the hour with a good deal. Almost doubled the savings retentions offered.

mine was 70% off but it was just lowered to 50% (I think) as I now pay $45 a month for the 250gb ignite with unlimited data, Also managed to get a free next 3.o box but doesnt really help me with a basic cable tv package lol but at least I have unlimited TV thru the internet. Just download my fave shows and movies and I am good!
also Gamecentre is free too so I am really good

Watch out on your bill. I went through ambassador...was double charged for Cable and Internet and have been trying for 2 months almost to get my bill straightened out. They just keep passing the buck and kicking the can down the road.johntitor2036 wrote: ↑I wasn't told the exact details Im waiting on my bill for that. Fibe like bell? They still only allow 100 mbit up. Hopefully they end up making the connection symmetric at some point.sexyblackbmw wrote: ↑yeah, I'm also getting 50% off 250U ... was paying 47.50 a month... no contract... okay service... somewhat fast at 327 meg downstream, but only 20 meg upstream....

Hope it works out for you! After reading through many pages of the various Bell forums I have seen many complaints about Bell jacking up peoples bills randomly which is why I am hesitant to switch companies at this point. I have read this on so many comments and also from my friends who are with Bell Fibe right now, no matter how bad rogers is, bell seems worse just from the feedback on these forums.Sutherlandchick wrote: ↑I switched to Bell Fiber on one place just now since Bell Fibre was laid in that one residence a week ago.
Still working on a second set up elswhere
Deal with Rogers was:
W45 Internet (300 gigs) $45
VIP TV: $72.18, PVR ( after 30% off the past few years)
Total: $123.03 New deals would have brought me up $10 so roughly $130'ish had I stayed.
But my internet was never great at that location, even bridged.
Bell Today:
Got Unlimited Level 4 which is 50 dl/10 u/p
A TV package, same as VIP at Rogers, a free PVR and they threw in a free home phone (basic) for $134.90
2 months free of all super channels, Movie channels, etc ( not that i need them and will cut them at the 2 moths point)
In the end, I would be paying that price for basic W45 internet and no phone had i stayed at Rogers.
Someone else could likely get a few more dollars off but i just didn't have any time left to truly negotiate.
I wanted to cut the TV all together but the speeds i wanted would have been about $110 anyhow so...for an extra 34.90 i get VIP TV'ish and a free home phone.
(gave me 3 months free Call ID-not that I need it)
Waived all installation charges although they did try to get $49.95 but i said no, I know that can be waived and he did.
That might not be ideal to most of you but I think it shows IF you really want to negotiate and have the time to do so, Rogers is not the only option.
Not with their attitude today.
48 hours they will be in and my present Internet will switch over at that time. My TV with Rogers I had cut today already.
Then I will either keep my 2 cell phones at Rogers remain as they are, as they are owned outright OR move to Bell.
Thanks for everyones help here the past 3-4 years.
Hope you all get what you want and Rogers gets their act together far better.

Mine was ending April 21. Unfortunately, there is no way to renew it. So the best thing I was able to get was:
Ignite 100u for $60/month. 2 years term. I also added Digital Basic Cable with NextBox 3.0 PVR for $12.48/month. No contract on cable.
My last bill with Ignite 250 was $55.34. Under new deal, Ignite 100 would've been $67.80. But adding digital basic got me $79.63/month. I think it is a solid deal given what they are offering right now. I refused what retentions offered me, scheduled cancelation a month later and then called Rogers Ambassador office.
Good luck.

Had another positive experience with our guy Steve today.
Called him this morning to have my bill credit rectified, it's my second call to Steve and he picked up right away.
Didn't even need to explain what my situation was, he looked up my name and address and knew what issue I was calling for.
Total time for both calls: less than 5 minutes, had my internet set up without installation/activation fee plus extra credits.

I will post back in a short while and give my thoughts.
I have many friends on Bell that love it.
Personally, I believe they are likely as bad as one another.
In this one residence, Bell Fiber was laid a week ago.
Rogers cable had never been great here, even bridged.
As soon as the Fiber was laid, the cable degraded even more.
it's less about saving money for me there, than it is just paying for convenience.
If they play games like Rogers, they will lose, not I.
If worse comes to worse, I shall leave Bell and become a new customer with Rogers
I doubt it will come to that.
Had I really wanted to hold on to the W45 deal, I would have played the game with Rogers,
but the time had come where 300 gigs could no longer sustain me.
W45 was the only reason I stayed this long.

I put in my cancellation notice, and now shomi doesn't work. When I check online, it says I don't have an internet plan with them anymore? (Although it's obviously working) but I can't see my history or anything anymore... Has this happened to anyone else?
