Notice how not a single person has edited their comment to let others know that they've been contacted by a field sales rep. I doubt that any of them are browsing this thread for potential sign ups.

I'm guessing no one has been contacted since the deals from field sales reps dried up due to Rogers' policy (coinciding with the COVID-19 lock-down).boldventure wrote: ↑ no rep contacted us

follow-up. just called with rogers to confirm email they sent that the new price mentioned if it was before or after tax. They said the email was sent out incorrectly in error to everyone.wakka2u wrote: ↑ we got this email...2-3 weeks before expiring
We hope you and your family are staying safe during this time.
When you signed up for your internet, TV, home phone services, there was a limited time discount. Your current promotion is ending soon, so we are automatically applying a new promotional discount to your account.
... your new monthly fee for your Rogers Internet, TV, home phone services will be $156.97/mo., after a promotional discount of $105.00/mo. for 12 months (subject to rate increase). Monthly fees stated do not include any additional add-ons or equipment.
You don’t need to do anything to get this discounted rate. Simply continue to use the internet, TV, and home phone services you enjoy today. Although your monthly fee is changing, all other aspects of your service remain the same. You’ll receive an updated Residential Service Agreement after this change takes effect.
If you make changes to your service before or after this change takes effect, the ongoing rate in this notice will no longer apply. Instead, you’ll receive the rate you agreed to when those changes were made.
we have the 1 gig plan, good tv and home phone line for the past 2 years. Went up $31/month from last year. previous increase which went up about $15 or 18. Not sure if i want this for only 12 months - rates would just increase more?

Unfortunate but sadly true.31337hacker wrote: ↑ I'm guessing no one has been contacted since the deals from field sales reps dried up due to Rogers' policy (coinciding with the COVID-19 lock-down).
I hate paying the amount I'm paying for my services especially when seeing what many others are paying for BETTER things from the same provider. But from everything else it doesn't seem like anything will change.
If I do contact the Rogers live chat about a deal from Bell, do I have to provide proof, or could i be like "They offered me A,B,C for $$$" and see if Rogers could match?
One thing I do hope for in the future is laws that prevent companies from charging more or less than the fixed price. If its $140 for a plan, make it $140. Not $90 if you're lucky and get the right rep, or $160 after a few months with "price hikes".

just finished on rogers fb chat
rep reply: " unfortunately however there are no offers/promotions I can offer on the account at this time. I am not sure if anything is going to change in terms of offers in the next month or so, however as for now there is nothing I can offer"
bill is going to go from $135 per month to $254 tax in. Rogers taking full advantage to bend us over, as unethical as charging triple for lysol wipes.
we're all getting rogered.

Agreed. Did this 2 years back and the winback dep called me within a day or 2 wheeling and dealing promos. They pretty much wanted to hear that I would stay. They offered $89 for the premier pkg with GB internet and phone with call display for 2 years no contract and guarenteed no price increase for 2 years. I thought it was too good to be true so I made sure that I recorded the whole convo. My bill for the past two years has been just under $101 and it's about to expire end of Aug. I plan on calling BHELL again to request a port and then cancel the port once I get a decent offer.tomika7 wrote: ↑ You missed the point.
You aren't switching.
You just call bell to set up a port date 2-3 weeks in advance for all services from Rogers to bell.
When you do that rogers gets notified and they call you ask you why are you leaving and give you a winback deal.
You aren't actually switching. Rogers will cancel the port and give u a please don't leave offer.
Read up few pages ago someone did the same.
Pretty idiotic that this is what you have to do to get best offer but this is the game you have to play now to stay away from paying full prices.

Followup. From the rep chat re the email 12 mo extenzion was in error... the gig internet, pop tv, home phone pkg we had (125) no longer exists in digital anymore, eveything is now ignite. After being transferred to rententions, csr said that there are no new installations for ignite due to covid.. lol. Long story short, found a really nice manager and rogers honored the covid email offer after 3 to 4 hours worth of work. We didnt have to replace any tv boxes .. whew.

I've read through a few pages and want to clarify something. Is there a difference between doing this and simply requesting a future-dated cancellation?tomika7 wrote: ↑ You missed the point.

That's what I still want to be sure of. Don't want anything to happen if I agree to a Bell deal(with intention of not taking it). I did the future cancellation last time and it worked, but it was years ago.DrDoomsday wrote: ↑ I've read through a few pages and want to clarify something. After calling and chatting (FB and website) I finally found one that gave me a promo.
I chatted in FB and website at the same time. Website chat gave me more expensive than the advertised price on the website. FB chat gave me the deal so I signed up, goodbye Bell, I'll do this dance again in year
What I got is
Premier TV and 1 GB internet $184.99-$80 credit for 12 months = $104.99
Crave HBO $19.95 50% off for 4 months = $9.98
Additional 4K box = $8
Free home phone with Canada-wide calling and 7 features
Total: $122.97 + taxes for the first 4 months
$132.95 for the remainder of 12 months.
All I can get with retention in Bell is just $30 credit making about at least $60 higher than what I got with Rogers

Yes. For some reason getting BHELL to do it on your behalf stings Robbers bad. Hurts their feelings, whereas calling to cancel Robbers will call your bluff...they really don't like losing customers to BHELL...DrDoomsday wrote: ↑ I've read through a few pages and want to clarify something. Would it matter what deal you go with when switching to Bell(if your intent is to get Rogers winback to call?). Like would they just try matching the deal you took, or would they not even know the price you're paying on that deal you accepted and will simply try offering whatever they can?
