dude,

If you had the option of Popular TV + 500u or Select TV + Gigabit....which one would someone choose if they're paying roughly the same price?

I personally think paying the extra $$ for gigabit isn't worth it as there are quite a bit of issues lagging with Rogers Gigabit at the moment. You'll end up seeing speeds of 300 - 600 , if that. Why pay the extra $$ for gigabit if 500u is offering similar speeds? Just my opinion.
Fair enough .. just an FYI that most of the issues ( at least for me ) are solved on Gig Speed. I am getting good constant 800+ ( not on just speed test but on combined downloads/streams (legal) from my pcs ) and we have a thread also going for all the Gig discussion for RFD members... latest beta FW, .33 is solid with no issues

I am on the 100u plan at $73/mo (Incl taxes) till March 31st. The chat rep offered me 150u at $73.45/mo (Incl taxes). Wondering if I should take it or get a new connection under my wife's/business name. Or go for Cannet 75mbps unlimited plan at roughly $45/mo (Incl taxes). Suggestions are most welcome :)
I really like the Cannet 75mbps plan but just worried about the throttling and other service levels. How has the experience been so far for people who have already made the switch? @CanNetRFD

I just got off live chat with customer relations representative, Sophia. This is what I accepted:

- $148.36 (before taxes) for 150U + Premier w/Fairchild TV (Chinese channel) as the bonus channel + Home Phone

- (My dad loves to watch soccer, so BeIN Sports at $15.99 is in there. So, technically, if you remove the $15.99, the bundle is $132.37 + Tax)

- After Ontario HST taxes, it is $167.65 with the BeIN Sports. Without the BeIN Sports, it could have been: $149.58
(Does not include pending price increase)

- About the pending $8 price increase, I tried to ask for extra goodwill credits to offset the increase, but no luck.

I've attached the screenshot of the confirmation:
You might want to change the name of your pictures file......cause I know exactly what it means....neighbor

For $10 more, it would have been gigabit cause thats what my friend got

My Cable TV previous win-back discount (20% off) just ended. I'm just wondering if cancelling and waiting for a win-back call still a thing now? I'm with the W45 internet and an old Digital Plus TV package.
get what is cheap, not what you need

Also interested in the Cannet 150mbps unlimited for $49.98 per month anyone out there made the switch and care to comment?

My parents have been customers for 40 years with Rogers, their current bundle contract expires in a few days and they were offered:
  • Popular TV + HDPVR
  • Ignite 75
  • Phone (standard LD)
  • ~147$ after tax.
Previously, they had Ignite 30, Digital VIP, and Canada-wide calling for around the same price

The issue is that Popular TV loses channels they like, and the phone is now Standard LD (20c/min as far as I can tell). We were supposed to only get Ignite 30, but a rep made a 'mistake' and offered us the wrong deal, but we've been dealing with their managers office since, and she honoured the mistake. The issue is that it's not what they need (they want the extra TV channels and to call the grand kids without worrying about minutes).

Any suggestions?
Mobile: Koodo - 8gb 55$ Canada-wide
Internet: Carrytel 60/10 29$
TV: FTA Antenna + Netflix

Just to give you guys update. I was paying Gigabit internet 75 plus tax (1000mpbs) and as of March 12 Rogers was going to increase the price to 83 plus tax. I Just called in to put cancellation and I got offered really good deal. The agent offered me Gigabit internet 49.99 plus tax and after march 12 it will be 57.99 plus tax . Price is good for 1 year. I think ts very good deal for Gigabit . internet. So now I am staying with Rogers. Just wanted to give everyone update so that you guys can get better deal as well. Thanks

Thanks zaidyboy.
Am a long-time customer only for TV.
Does your analysis of what I can expect still hold true?
Am planning another attempt Monday . . .
Just an update -- Facebook Chat rep said today they can only offer bundle deals for customers who already have bundles. Took my info to pass along to sales rep who will call me, as I am only an existing TV customer.

Hi all,

I might've mentioned it before or not but if you check https://www.bell.ca/Bell_Internet/Internet_access . Check your address at the top.

If it shows that you have anything above Fibe 150 in the area, you will more than likely qualify for Rogers Combo 3 deal and maybe the Gigabit and 500u promo for $38 and $48 respectively.

You will also qualify for the 109.99 Premier + Gigabit promotion .

These new Rogers promos are tied to whether Bell offers anything above Fibe 150 in the area.

Hmmm, I have the same $75 Gigabit plan. Maybe I'll try this because let's be honest, an almost 11% bill increase is unacceptable.

Is this $109 guaranteed for 12 or 24 months? Protected by rate increases?

I am currently on the $99 VIP + 1GB promo for 1.5 years ago...was thinking of jumping on the $109 if possible...

you would have to have a chat with retention.

No, none of Rogers pricing is guaranteed anymore.
