That makes more sense. I'd imagine it is. Home phones dont exactly bump up costs of plans anymore. Individually they're a ripoffRogersisRobbers wrote: ↑ Whoops sorry I ment to ask @mend4480. I miss quoted.

Does your new offer the $135 or the $115 including taxes, have home phone service, or is it just internet and tv?mend4480 wrote: ↑ Got it through the “share a concern” chat. Original offer 2 weeks ago of $155 was also through share a concern
I’m on legacy digital cable. Channel comparison between premium and popular can be found here:

I started the chat just asking if there were any offers on my account given my current promo was ending soon. Agent started with an offer of $126+tax for no change to my services so that would’ve been about $16 more than I’m paying right now. They asked if I was willing to change my services and I said I was, keeping cost down was most important so that’s when we started throwing away timeshifting and downgrading to popular to get to final offer. So I’m only paying less because I got rid of a bunch of channels but the extra cost of those channels wasn’t worth it to me. It seems like it all depends on timing. When I asked about downgrading 2 weeks ago they told me it would be more expensive as they could only offer me a promo if I kept all my existing services unchanged. If you still have time before your current promo ends I would just keep checking in to see if there’s any updated offers for your account.

Even the original offer looked good. I've been told theres no promo available to me once my current one expires and I have to pay full price. Guess I'll be trying the other chat to find out. Maybe trying on a weekday this time incase there's better agents available then.mend4480 wrote: ↑ I started the chat just asking if there were any offers on my account given my current promo was ending soon. Thank you for the clarification. Yes that makes sense then. The promotions now are better since Wednesday when Ontario moved to stage 2, people would have more access to go to malls, and likely deal with Bell, so I believe Rogers is kind of forced to give these promos so people dont jump ship.mend4480 wrote: ↑ I started the chat just asking if there were any offers on my account given my current promo was ending soon. I got a new offer from them yesterday for $156 after tax, but it includes home phone and its Gigabit, so thats where I was comparing your price if somehow there was an even better promo available when you mentioned $135 after tax. I was paying $133 after tax in the prior year, so its $23 bucks more this time. Damn COVID. Not only does the virus cause health issues, but its costs regular folks more money for daily services.

coming back to clarify my previous rant. bill from jun25 - jul24 just came in. as it turns out, the ONLY promo pricing that was disappearing was the crave/hbo/movies $19.99 and a monthly reoccurring $30 credit off the bundle.crashxxx wrote: ↑ just finished on rogers fb chat
rep reply: " unfortunately however there are no offers/promotions I can offer on the account at this time. I am not sure if anything is going to change in terms of offers in the next month or so, however as for now there is nothing I can offer"
bill is going to go from $135 per month to $254 tax in. Rogers taking full advantage to bend us over, as unethical as charging triple for lysol wipes.
we're all getting rogered.
my new monthly post-tax is in fact $175.08 (~ $50 higher, not the end of the world. I'm going to drop the crave/hbo/movies to save that extra $20 and later on try for some better offers.
there is still a $70 bundle discount which isn't labelled as a promo valid until a specific date.
Saving money on things I don't need since 2009. thanks RFD

So i just got off the phone with rogers, their regular internet support contact number, the customer service had the slightest interest in talking to me and was very dismissive, after telling him my problem and asking him to check for any deals or offers, he came back with the same pricing listed on their website for Gigabit internet and home phone and nothing he can do about it, i'm honestly sick of their exploitation of people during this pendamic.
By july 15th if i don't cancel, I will have to pay around $170~ for internet and home phone, any advise you guys can give me on what to do and how do I properly cancel my services without losing my number

Chatted with Rogers online and put in a cancellation request. Loyalty ambassador called and he offered me Ignite 500 for 79.09 or Ignite 300 for 73.44 (taxes included) for 1 year. My current promo is 67.79 for Ignite 500. I declined for now and will try calling them again in a couple of weeks. I'm in Richmond Hill.

Yeah you have to cancel to get a good deal with Rogers
Here is my story from this weekend. My discount expires in mid-July, Premier package with 1 HDPVR 3.0 rental, Gigabit Internet, Home phone(Basic with no feature). Currently paying $113 plus tax (but was $105 plus tax 2yrs ago when I got the bundle).
With my discounts ending my cost is going up to $264 plus tax so I've been trying to get a better deal and cut costs/services for the past three months. I tried facebook messenger, rogers.com live chat and calling in multiple times, the best they could offer was $146 plus tax. I requested the option to cancel my home phone and downgrade the cable TV and Internet package and the cost always went higher than $143.
I even told Rogers that I like what I am paying now($113 plus tax) and will like to keep the cost the same due to Covid-19 job uncertainty so I'm OK to downgrade or cancel any service to get me back to $113. The only deal they had for me for $143 for my current bundle or full price for single to two Rogers services. I asked for the option for only Rogers Ignite 300 or faster they quoted full cost and no discount...Geez
Anyway, they won the battle.
Really pissed off at this greed I put in my cancellation notice, got in my car and drove to Canada computers at the other end of town, stood in a 45mins line and picked up a modem for TPIA. Got back home 3 hours later and got a call from Loyal Ambassador. I knew they will call not didn't think within 3 hours. I got offered the same package that I have now for $111, I declined and then the agent pulled a "manager special" for same package for $101...like SERIOUSLY???? I wasted hours of my time and now there is a "manager special" deal that is much cheaper than what I wanted?
I told him I'll think about it but they have already lost a customer. If anybody cares for the number he called from 1 866 622 7578 and told me I can call back 1 866 431 5632 when I am ready to accept the offer before my cancellation date.

Customers: Any good deals? I'll even just stick to my current price.
Rogers: No, actually we're raising your price.
C: Fine, I'm cancelling.
R: Actually, maybe you can get a price similar to your old price.
C: No
R: Ok, here's a special deal, better than your old price.
Like is that even necessary? Either it exists from the start or it doesn't. The fact that people have to treat negotiations for a basic service like they're playing hardball at some high up job is ridiculous.

Is there any internet only promotions? Playing the same game every year, they will only give a me promotion if I give up my legacy TV package. One agent even took it off without my consent. Had to spend time with another CSR to put it back. Now I have to wait until the covid promos end to verify I still have all my tv channels.
