FYI... Ottawa (K2J) I was on $35+tax for 500U (ending July 13, 2020) and just took on FB $55+tax /month for 12 months for 500U.

Tried again, absolutely no deal available.
They gave me a "better" price than the last person did. Only because the person this time around gave me the exact same deal except showed the price BEFORE taxes, which after I added taxes I saw it worked out to the exact same price as the person I contacted weeks ago.
If this is the game they want to play, enjoy losing a longtime customer.

Are you going to actually place a cancellation request, and try the Winback route now? If yes, please do come back here, and let us know how it goes. Thanks!

Me neither. I think the guy made some valid points and I was hoping enough people would click on “like” to get Doug Ford’s Twitter team interested in bringing it up.DrDoomsday wrote: ↑ This Twitter post still hasn't got RFD'ed. Still only 7 likes on it.
Anybody here knows any journalists who could get involved and ask a question to Ford during his daily briefings? That’ll make Rogers you-know-what their pants!

I actually got a better offer though Bell, so I'll just find out if they(Bell) could do 1 step better than their original offer. Regardless if they do or not, I'll just take that deal and have it kick in when my Rogers deal is done. The Bell agent assured me that if I switch, because home phone is part of the deal, they'll send the port request to Rogers asap. Once that happens, Rogers knows I'm not only cancelling them, I've found a carrier who is offering better.shahrukhan60 wrote: ↑ Are you going to actually place a cancellation request, and try the Winback route now? If Rogers wants to do winback call then great, let's see how badly they want to keep a longtime customer (who is in the quickly declining minority who actually care about a home phone plan in this bundle). If not, then I guess I'll be moving to Bell.

I talked to a couple of Rogers rep recently and for new customers, he gave the following options:
Limited time discounted deals: with Rogers
$49.99/month: 150 mbps
$59.99/month: 500 mbps (Free Home phone).
•(Guaranteed same price for 24 months)
• Free installation
I am not sure if you could cancel your current connection and get a new one under your partner's name at the same address. If anyone wants, I can provide you with their phone numbers.

If you were to get a Winback call after Bell tries to port your number, it should be their best and final offer. I’d be very curious to see what this offer would be like. When do you plan on calling Bell for the port (or, when’s your last day of your current promotion with Rogers)?dxbender wrote: ↑ I actually got a better offer though Bell, so I'll just find out if they(Bell) could do 1 step better than their original offer. I'll call in a few weeks. My deal is up next month. My current price isn't the best, but I might as well keep it slightly longer and see if ignite installations happen for current customers, at that point they might offer a better ignite bundle.shahrukhan60 wrote: ↑ If you were to get a Winback call after Bell tries to port your number, it should be their best and final offer. I cancelled this morning. My promo is ending next week and all they offered was same bundle but for an extra approximately $35 per month. I said no way...that is ridiculous! I have digital and mentioned the Ignite bundle was much cheaper, but was told that I couldn't get that at this time due to the pandemic. I asked for an extension of current promo until I could get the Ignite, she refused. So I had to cancel. So upset. I am a loyal, very long term customer and the agent really didn't care if I stayed or left. I mentioned speaking with Retentions and she said she was from the retentions dept and that was the best offer. Guess I am an ex Rogers customer. Now to look elsewhere, just don't know where. Bell? or maybe I will forego cable and home phone and just stick with internet and use one of those smaller internet companies. Just don't know how stable their connection is? Am currently working from home and need a stable connection! ohhhhhhhh so frustrating. This was the first time in all these years with Rogers that I was not able to negotiate a better price and had to actually put in an order to cancel.

I put in a cancellation request and no callback yet. Got an email with a number to call. Called but no answer or call back. I am worried if I have to move to bell to get a better deal, I need to pay the installation fees $60 and take a credit hit. Gosh robbers need stop being greedy and offer better deals. I can only get Bell Fibe 50 in my area so my only option is Rogers since I am a heavy user and have the gigabit plan atm.

Leave a voice message or keep trying that phone number. Don’t panic. You’ve chosen the right thing to do here. Once you’ll get a hold of them, or they of you, you should be able to get a decent deal. Once you get an offer, please come back here to let us all know! ThanksAmeliaski wrote: ↑ I put in a cancellation request and no callback yet. Got an email with a number to call. Looks like you had better luck than I did with winback. I got offered:
- $64.99 300u
- $54.99 150u
- $44.99 75u
My recent promotion that ended was ~$37 after taxes. Bell doesn't offer FTTH in my area either...

My promotion ended in June. I was on 500U for $25 and it jumped to regular price which is over $100. When I set a cancellation date a while back, they made no attempt to retain me as a customer. No offer/email/call/winback. They just reminded me to return the modem.
Ended up signing up with Carrytel. At least I won't have to deal with Rogers' BS anymore.
