Crap, just realized that's the number I got a call from too... They told me there were 20 or so agents in that office from the Ottawa area and everytime I called it back it went to that office
Well then they might have two different Winback numbers...
When I was dealing with them they were all in Ottawa, so that's a good sign!
Also the pricing seems reasonable if the box rentals are adding to the monthly fee.

Today, was offered $69.99 for 500u, and was told that's the best that I could get after saying I would leave them for Bell.
Rogers policy right now is squeaky wheels don't get grease. You threatened to leave, they don't believe you. Best pricing currently requires you actually do cancel, not just threaten.

I'm seeing mostly posts about retention. Any deals for new customers? Do I need to get in touch with a rep or is there a general sales number that can get me deals?

Hate Facebook messenger. Currently on VIP + Gigabit bundle. Promo expires end of Sept. Been waiting for a response since filling out the stupid authentication form. I wonder how many convos these reps have going at a time. So awkward when a person just ghosts you. :(

Well, I did say "I would like to set a cancellation date for my account" and that's when the retentions lady asked me if I would like a call from a "Customer Relations Expert" and that's who offered me $69.99 for 500u. I also asked about the $39.99 500u, and she responded saying that it was a limited time offer and for specific geographic locations, but she's currently unable to provide that to anyone anymore.

Perhaps would this have been her having someone (retention, not winback) calling you instead of placing a cancellation request? You might want to doublecheck that a pre-dated cancellation has actually been placed.

My 2 years with Rogers is Expiring. I'm paying around $135 with a home phone line, Ignite 100u Internet and Basic TV.

What should I negotiate or expect to get if I call rogers to extend for another 2 years?

I like the speed of my internet because I work from home, so a fast connection is a must. I wish to have a better TV package, but it was too expensive when I was trying to get a better pkg 2 yrs ago.
If you go back a few pages, there are some solid retention deals. The best way to go about is to place a cancellation 2 or 3 weeks ahead of time and wait for a winback rep to give you a call.

Let them know that Bell has been knocking on your door for gigabit services and you're likely going to jump on it, usually does the trick.

I'd ask for the following:

Popular TV
Gigabit Internet
Local Home Phone (Canada wide with 3 calling features)

Should be looking to pay around $90 - $110 + hst

Decided to change from Rogers to $79.95 Bell Gigabit Fibe deal.

Rogers winback called me and gave me this:
$39.54 after tax (1 year discount) Unlimited Gigabit
Bell called me back a little bit earlier and gave me this:
$49.95+tax (permanent discount of $100) Unlimited Gigabit Fibe
$56.44 after tax

I haven't had Bell for a while but I've been hearing good things.
Opinions?

I've been on Fibe Gigabit since October and it's been solid for me.

I'll go with Bell Pure Fibe for $10 more.
Much faster upload, much lower latency, super stable and consistent, and the ongoing $100 discount is good as well.
I have been on it for a year and I'm happy. Look at my speedtest:

I would have to agree that Bell Fibe Gigabit is way more consistent in speeds than Rogers.

The only problem with Bell is their billing issues. It's a headache dealing with them.

ah yes interesting!

I might give Bell a call and see if they match the $49.95 deal. Having 1Gig Upstream is much better than Rogers

ShinnF99090 did you have a promo code with bell for the $49.95? Bell won't go lower than $75.99 for me

How did you get that offer from Bell originally? Did you just call them up and ask for the deal or did they offer it to you through a promo?

I just got Rogers to drop my Gigabit plan down to $49.95 but since Bell just installed FTTH to my condo a few months back i would gladly pay the same price for the 1Gig Up/Down.
