Trade in your "old" sat receiver for FREE. You can get them from kijiji for $50

var minPrice = "379.99";

Still a rip-off. Why are these things so expensive?

You can't get the new 8642 for rental yet, only the older 8300HD is available for rent.

Does anybody have any experience with the new units yet? Are they significantly better than the crappy 8300s?

Because it is a monopoly: There is no other way for you to record HD from Rogers except via their PVR.
