Well not out of luck, you can go out and buy a decent wireless router if you find problems with the wireless performance of the Hitron modem. I am currently using the Hitron modem, but with the wireless portion turned off.

How did you get the unlimited option? I spoke to two reps and they both told me that they couldn't do it.rvs007 wrote: ↑Jul 15th, 2013 5:36 pmI have the W35 deal (25Mbps download/2 Mbps upload, free modem, no contract) + $10 unlimited bandwidth (need 3 Rogers home services to qualify), which works out to $45/mo. They gave me the Hitron modem that you linked to. I read that the wireless on that sucks so I promptly turned that feature off and kept using my existing wireless router. I get speeds that's consistent with the advertised rates so the modem is doing what it's supposed to so I have no issues with it.

Thanks for posting this, I just switched from W45 to this W35 with unlimited too! Had to threaten hard to cancel (I told them to process the cancellation), but then she came back once more and gave me the deal. Probably still switch over to Teksavvy once the new speeds hit my area next month...rvs007 wrote: ↑Jul 15th, 2013 5:36 pmI have the W35 deal (25Mbps download/2 Mbps upload, free modem, no contract) + $10 unlimited bandwidth (need 3 Rogers home services to qualify), which works out to $45/mo. Yeah thanks very much for sharing that it's possible! For anyone else trying for it, "sales" is the wrong department. I asked them for it and they transferred me to someone else who gave it to me no questions asked. If I had to guess, it might be the "add ons" option when you're on the automated system.
I will probably have to switch to Teksaavy once my $10 home phone promo ends unless they will give me a new discount.
I've been getting about 3mb/sec down consistently. I downloaded 30gb worth of Steam games today so far and they're not throttling me.

Received a letter from Rogers. It looks like the price is going up to $48 after Aug 24.

Isn't the price guaranteed for 8 years? Or is that for new customers?towcheng2000 wrote: ↑Jul 22nd, 2013 6:22 pmReceived a letter from Rogers. It looks like the price is going up to $48 after Aug 24.

So towcheng2000 did your bill go up? I saw the notice on my most recent bill, but it does say something about promotions being respected for the term of the promotion.

I'm an existing internet customer and I just got extreme 35/3 300gb for $45 with modem through retentions.
They said 8 years.

How did you get them to do it. They wouldn't even do 200gb for me at $45, so I had to cancel.Canuckavelli wrote: ↑Aug 31st, 2013 5:04 pmI'm an existing internet customer and I just got extreme 35/3 300gb for $45 with modem through retentions.

I am using 35/3 200gb for $45 recently, just wondering how did you get 300gb for that plan?Canuckavelli wrote: ↑Aug 31st, 2013 5:04 pmI'm an existing internet customer and I just got extreme 35/3 300gb for $45 with modem through retentions.

Well I have two internet lines and promo came off one of them. So I called and said I'd cancel both unless they matched teksavvy.

Got my first bill after the August price hike of various Rogers services, and happy to report that the promotional rate of $45 is still the same. The monthly discount that reduces the regular price to $45 gets bigger to offset the increase. In my case, I have the W35+$10unlimited, so for Express it went up by $3/mo. So the promotional discount went from $17 to $20 to keep it at $45/mo. So for those on the W35 and W45 plan, don't worry about any increases in the next 8 years! lol...towcheng2000 wrote: ↑Jul 22nd, 2013 6:22 pmReceived a letter from Rogers.
