I just tried to get this deal at the Rogers store at Billings Bridge Mall in Ottawa.

The best that they could do was 25% off the regular price and modem rental. That comes out to $54.75 and it was only on a one year contract. No discount on activation or installation. Boo.

Also, it was the paltry 120GB/month data cap.

Time to try calling in and getting a useful CSR.

Also, it was the paltry 120GB/month data cap which ensures that overages occur should this get used for more than just light netflix, email and social media.

Fixed it.

I called 18886041483 today. Asked about the deal and was transferred. Whoever came on knows about this deal and I had no problem signing up (I am a new Rogers customer and currently with Bell). Since I am still with Bell for 30 days, I was hoping to have the installation done in a couple weeks but the agent said she has to book the installation date in the same calendar month as my sign-up month. Also, have to pay the $50 installation fee because my place has never have cable installed before. I asked her if she knows when this deal would expire and she said she doesn't and it can expire anytime (hehe, work on me to sign up right away).

I'm in Toronto, Ontario if that matters....

Ugh! My opinion of Rogers has totally changed. I never had Rogers Internet in my household before. I am currently with Bell.

I got this deal but the CSR said I had to go to the stores to activate it because it was an in-store deal. I went to the Rogers store and they said this was a student deal which expired in December! On top of the store rep couldn't see what the CSR put in the order as it had been partial filled.

So I called the Rogers sales no, tell them the incident #. They acknowledge the deal but it's another dept. that can activate the order. I get transfer to this dept. and the CSR there tells me it's another dept.

I was hold on for close to two hours just waiting for them to activate my order!! Finally I just gave up and asked the CSR not to go ahead with the order.

How can a corporation poorly managed as this been allowed to exist??

I pay $50 with tax included for Teksavvy Cable at a rate of about 35/1. I'll often use 500GB with my plan and never get charged any overages (AFAIK, Teksavvy still can't calculate how much data you've used). Teksavvy is more than adequate for my needs, and I like the fact that they aren't constantly threatening us with price increases, and my bill is never a penny more than the month before. This is a step in the right direction from Rogers, but please remember, they're only doing this because they're starting to feel the heat of the competition, and that's why they're trying to lock customers in for 8 years.
WARNING: I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR NON DEAL POSTERS. CHECK OUT MY RFD T-SHIRT. I AM THE DEAL MASTER.

Welcome to the Rogers world. This is just the beginning of the nightmare. Even if you can get it activated successfully, you WILL get some error in the first bill, almost guaranteed. Then you'll spend hours on the phone trying to get it adjusted. If you're lucky, you don't have to call again the next month. Installation appointments are even worse, both myself and my family have experienced that after taking a day off, waiting for an entire day just to find out that they are not coming. Somehow, you call them and the CSR on the phone said no such order in the computer.... Just countless problems. I heard that Bell isn't any better though and my family had bad experience with Bell as well before. Bell ran a line through my parents' backyard to our neighbour's house without telling them. Jumped through hoops and almost had to call the cops before they agree to take it down. The line wasn't undergound and just "hanging" in the air across the yard and they admitted to no wrongdoing (including don't need property owner permission to access the backyard, and had the gut to tell my parent that if the line is taken out, their neighbour will be out of service, etc.)

You can thank the CRTC for keeping the Bell/Rogers oligopoly in place and the interests of consumers ignored.

Gazoo11 wrote: As stated the $3 increase will not effect this plan. They will add it to your bill but then give you a credit for it. Also As stated the 45.00 per month is guaranteed for 8 years. As far as modem goes Rogers offers you one for 8 years at no cost so what are you complaining about? Go anywhere else and you are buying a modem and paying shipping cost etc. It is funny how negative people are on this site, maybe start looking on positive side of things.
Its not about complaining! Its about what was told and what is provided. Is should 'match'. Thats what an ideal business will do to retain customer relationship. Because in the past, Rogers discounts has "disappeared" magically when you do something else unrelated on your account. When asked the so called customer service specialists have no permissions or way to fix it! Then we have to call them so many times and so much time wastes before (if) it gets fixed.

I just called the 1-888-604-1483 number listed above and the CSR had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. He quoted me the same 25% offer that I got in store.

He said that if I had a promotion code, he could look it up. Did anyone that got this deal get a reference code?

Also, I'm in Ottawa. Not sure if this promo is not available in my area.
