Yes, a few people on this thread has noticed the same. Are you on the original W45 plan (200GB/35Mbps) or the revised W45 plan (300GB/30Mbps)?

You should check to see what is available at your location. I cancelled a couple of months ago and the offered me the current packages at 50% off!

I was on the $45 plan for 35mpbs service.

I'm now on hybrid fiber 60.
60/10 down/up (realistically getting 75/11)
350GB/month
$43/month plus taxes.

Yes, but hopefully by then they will have upgraded the infrastructure in my area by then and I can cancel again and be offered a better deal.

Right now they have the 150/15 package with 350GB transfer for $86/month. They haven't upgraded the fibre to my neighbourhood yet else I would have taken this package at 50% off.

It appears only the 200GB, not the 300GB iteration, carried with it an 8 year guarantee.
IMO, since you have no price protection, the newer speeds coupled with a nice 50% discount through winback would be my choice if I had your package.

I have the 300GB
I called and I remained in w45($48 current price) with $10 discount good for 1 year so I pay $38 +HST.

Assuming the $10 discount is not a one-time credit (like what someone else who called in to complain and got) and it applies monthly for the year, then that would be a good compromise for not having the 8-year price protection.

Double this. If that $10 was recurring every month, pretty decent value. Ride that $10 discount for a long as possible.

Same thing here (bill increased $3+tax without notice) ... what number did you call and what did you say to get the $10 discount? Thanks.
Amerifriend threads need to include instructions on how to acquire an amerifriend.

Call this number
1 877 559-5202
It will ask for you to dial your phone number registered to your account
Press 9 for other services
Press 4 to make changes to your account
Then Press 4 for cancellations
You will then talk to a rep and Negotiate!
Good Luck!

I am on the $45 300gb plan as well. I was told it was for 8 years, now I got the $3 a month increase as well. This seems really shady.

Called Retentions to complain about being lied to when I was assured that the W45 plan was price protected for 8 years and now has no price protection. Best the rep offered was $3 off for 1 year and could not understand why I was insulted.

I asked to speak to her supervisor. First she put me on hold for 10 minutes then told me she had arranged to have my W45 plan locked at $45 for 1 year. I told her that was not what I wanted, I wanted the 8 I had been promised and I wanted to speak to the supervisor she was supposed to connect me to. 10 more minutes on hold. My blood was boiling at this point. For me it is not about the money it's the friggin principle. When a company makes a promise to you they should keep it. WHen I switched from W35 to W45 I was assured 4 or 5 times the the 8 years was guaranteed not to worry and then less than 6 months later their word means nothing. The rep gave me some line about "business conditions" changing.

What would happen if I told them MY business conditions changed and I decided to PAY them $3 less a month?

Anyways the long and the short of it was that the $36 that was offered by the retentions rep ($3 a month off to keep the W45 for a year at $45) turned into a one time credit of $270 plus tax which is 8 years of future increases. I asked about future increases and what would happen and she said I was on my own. The retentions rep kept going on about what a good deal the W48 is. 30mbps down is not so great in my opinion. The Supervisor wasn't going to upgrade anything either, just the onetime cash and that's it and I really had to fight for it.

I'll use the credit to pay my bill for a few months and then look to cancel or see what better deals there are. I feel that this might be the final straw with Rogers.
