I know ceredon was reporting some difficulty when negotiating other services after accepting the RHP SRU promo, so that could be why.
Anyway, as always, its rep dependent and YMMV, so keep at it.
But i will be trying again. And again. And again.

I have a couple months to work it out. Otherwise, hello Teksavvy, acanac, distibutel, etc.
2015 wins: Trip for 2 to NYC with airfare, limo, hotel and insurance ($3700); Maple Leafs tickets($250); 32GB HTC One M9 ($700), Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1($200), Samsung Galaxy Note 5($850), Aukey 2 port fast car charger($23), Fitbit Flex ($120), Blue Piston Bluetooth Speaker ($30). 2016 wins: nada

Instead of trying again and again and... just switch to some other guys who won't rip you off and also no need to call in every single year for promotions and every other month for invoice mistakes.

In two years with Teksavvy I haven't called them at all. It's been a great experience. Can't wait for a third party cable/IP TV to get rid of Rogers for good.

i just called in again, gave them the promo code W45 and he says that's expired. so that's the second rep that told me this deal is dead.

this time i got offered 30% off (same as before)... modem not included :( i also have to add $30 on the undiscounted price for the unlimited bandwidth. it's +$10 if i had tv and phone and internet bundle.

i guess 30% off is better than nothing. not sure how you guys are getting better deals.

It took two calls but I got $49.59 ($51.99+10-20%)for express unlimited, $10 for basic phone and 30% off my basic cable. Should be about $103.36 with tax

How can you get 500GB for the extreme?
The package is listed on their website for my province. Seems different provinces offer different packages..

No matter how green the pasture, you still PAY for internet no matter who provides it.
The begging(as you put it) is to pay less than elsewhere.

The rogers extreme I have is 30mbps download/10 mbps upload with 500gb monthly allowance. At 30% off it costs me $39.99/month with free modem rental.

good deal there!

I need internet service when I return to Ottawa from Florida in April. My apt bldg. has the Bell condo service and Rogers cable. I was thinking of giving "Start" a try but don't know if cable or dsl is better. I would like to buy my modem while I am in the States to take advantage of the price difference. Any tips much appreciated

I got the $45/year internet, $14.95 HP and 30% off cable w/ free HDPVR on the first call, with installation & activation fees waived. Mind you, that was about a month ago.

Yeah, I got about the same $35/8year, $20 SRU Deluxe, and 30% off with HDPVR - but it was in a span of 2 calls without making a final commitment on the first call.
That meant I still had 'chips' on the table Whereas ceredon is finding that if you are locked into the 2 year RHP plan, they know you have less incentive to leave.

Which I find odd in my case, since for the times I negotiated the SRU promo for myself and family, they confirmed its a 2 year PROMO, not contract, so not tied down.
First bill will confirm or not I suppose...

Makes sense. You'd def. have more leverage that way.

It's a contract without a doubt. The rep. probably didn't know or lied or was just being vague.
