Got the 35Mbps internet from Rogers, but my speeds are averaging at 16Mbps on my laptop. Called tech support and they said to get a dedicated router to get the real speeds. That seems dumb, shouldn't the modem/router combo they provide be capable of working near 35Mbps wirelessly?
I've had to do the same thing while I was with Rogers. On their modem/router I was getting around 16Mbs on my Netgear router around 50~60Mbps. Not sure why it is like that, but since I've had the router from before it worked and it didn't bother me.

Yeah, I'm guessing there's nothing that can be done other than doing a direct ethernet connection, but that isn't realistic. I had a Dlink router, but it turned out to be a dud (really poor signal strength and dropped connections). I'll probably have to grab a decent router at some point.

Asked retention to transfer a call to insight sales team and just signed in 1 hour ago. The deal should be ended by this month..... but sales told me that I can even callback next week to get this deal.... not sure if true. But I am in and try.

Existing customer eligible or yymv depending on rep
My experience is YMMV. I called yesterday and I was told this promo is expired. I was offered 35/3, unlimited for $57. This did not include the modem. I had the option of renting or buying but no discounts on either option, neither of which is really that appealing.

Does that offer have a 8 year price guarantee?

Just got my bill, charged 2 months at full price. $84.99 x 2 + tax.

Man, and apparently the promotion is gone now. What the ***** Rogers? Jesus *****ing christ.

Edit: Retentions got a mouthful from me, only came out with 48.99 + tax for 35/3, modem rental included, but only 140GB, no contract. I am cancelling this ***** next month

Man, this is really unfair, having jipped us the promo just like that.

48.99 is still decent, but the 60GB bandwidth lost for an extra 4 bucks is a hefty loss. Meh, better than nothing I suppose :(

It was either 35/3, 140GB for 48.99, or 25/2 300GB for $50.39. Plus tax... opted for the 35/3 speeds.
