That initial speed burst is misleading, but as long as you're happy.

When torrenting I got 8.9-9.7mb/sec at a constant rate so it's not exactly an initial speed burst ( i downloaded a 35gb file and it stayed at that rate throughout )

I just called and got this deal. It is not dead, maybe it depends who you talk to? I didn't mention anything about an expiry date on this.

Were you an existing customer? What did he/she say to you about the promo, and how did you request/sign up to this?

Exactly... if you think you're really getting 92mbit/s you're living in dream land.

Regarding Rogers 35/3 real usage speed. It's nowhere near Bell Fibe 25 which I had before. Bell speed almost always reached maximum claimed with speeds close to and over 3000 kbps while Rogers is showing no more than 1500 kbps. The only website where Rogers shows unbelievable speed is SpeedTest.

I call Rogers speed claims b/s and I suspect they optimize for SpeedTest and heavily throttle all other traffic. I regret that Bell was stubborn not to provide any discount for the long term customer and I couldn't afford to pay ~$80 for the Internet.

The price is the only good point in this offer. If you can get a comparable offer from Bell even with slower claimed speed go for it!

I'm not sure if they messed up for me, but they seem to be working fine for me? I had to pay $85 when I was w/ bell, had 10mbps / 1mbps and 24gb bandwidth.. I get really great speeds w/ rogers so far, even w/ torrents, etc.

The modem/router rogers gave works well if plugged in through ethernet, but if it's wifi it'll be terrible
Ethernet 92-95mbps download 3mbps upload
Wireless 1mbps download 0.14 upload

I dunno if they pissed up in my area, but considering I can download 8.9-9.7mb/sec I'm pretty sure that speedtest was accurate.. BUT I can't download fast on public trackers, only private ones are fast. Public ones I get 1.5mb/sec tops :s

you mean 9MB/s on uTorrent? if so thats hell fast for extreme speeds, you might be on Ultimate speeds for that low price! im only getting max 5.0MB/s when BTing

If anyone is interested in switching from W45 to W35+$10 unlimited, it is possible to do it but you might only have a day to make the switch (since the $10 unlimited promo is ending today). See this thread for details:

http://forums.redflagdeals.com/rogers-e ... st16583260

You'll probably need 3 Rogers services to get the $10 promo (wireless excluded).
