not much of a deal if i need to prove that I do something I really don't.

Here's another hot deal, you can get 50% off all clothing if you work at Holt Renfrew. You will need to be on an actual shift in the actual store to get this offer so, job applications can be downloaded at www.removethisthread.com.
- Cheers.
(gosh i'm grumpy today).

Rogers Health Care Workers Plan
Exclusive offer for ***Health Care Workers***:
for $18.00 you get:
200 weekday minutes
unlimited evening & weekends (from 6pm to 8am)
free caller id
per sec billing after 1st min
free activation fee ($35.00 value)
call waiting
call forwarding
the catch:
Voicemail is an additional $5.
36 month contract
You have to go to a Rogers dealer to get a free phone with this.
You MUST show that you are an active health care worker - payroll stub, Healthcare ID.
You can have up to 5 phones on this plan (each phone costing $18.00), as long as the main person on the account is a valid health care worker.
I'm not sure if this is valid all over Canada, but I'm in B.C. and it's valid here.

True, but there might be RFDers that are health care workers that this applies to. People that work for any hospital, private practices, labs, community health, etc. Chances are you know someone who could benefit from this.
Besides, half the stuff posted in here doesn't apply to me since I don't live in the GTA. I did indicate it was for health care workers in the title.

It sounds a little different from what I've been told. When I signed up, the voice mail is included but weeknights (6pm-8pm) is additional $5. At least that's what the ad and my online detail says. As well, it includes detailed billing. I think you can sign up with this with only 24month contract.
If you're in UHN, there's an ad on the UHN Intranet.

HOT DEAL! That is the plan I have... I believe it is 18 for eve&week @ 8 and extra 5 to start @ 6. Corporate long distance too, 10c, rounded to nearest 1/2 min. My friend also got this deal even though he isn't a health employee, you just have to find a store that will call corporate activations to activate for you. It might be hard and a pain in the ass to do though.
I believe you also need a minimum of 2yr contract, so you might as well sign a 3 yr and get a cheap phone... either sell it or use it. I hate contracts but for $23 a month, I doubt I will find a better plan anytime soon.
*Voice Mail is suppose to be included, but for some reason I don't have it and regular customer care won't give it to me! I have to talk to my dealer again.

Hmm, I currently have $35/mo family plan. This sounds better as it includes evening option or voicemail free.
A few questions:
> Is the voicemail offer permanent? I.e. Hopefully, it's not just some kind of "2 months and then we'll charge you" thing.
> Is there any expiry on this?
> I'm currently ending year 1 of 3-year contract. Can I just sign up for a new 3-year deal without any penalties?
> Can the 200 minutes be shared between mutliple phones under this plan?
Also, I might as well combine this with Eastlink 15% off Rogers bill offer!!
Thanks!

i have this plan, but when i called them up to transfer my wife's cell phone plan, they wouldn't give her the same promotion.

Anyone know if those bonuses of 6 months unlimited local calling/6 months unlimited text, picture and video messaging (on the website for Ontario anyway) apply to the health care worker corporate plans?
Thanks!
