unlimited dsl is the only way to go for downloaders. who cares about 50mps when you can only download 100gb a month. I can go over 200 easily on my teksavvy account. not to mention its far cheaper.

Notice the website of Rogers says that the $25 max cap applies to Ultra Lite and Lite ONLY. Anything else they charge $$ per GB with no limit:
http://www.rogers.com/web/Rogers.por...=INTER_HISPEED
Even my Express service, the $25 limit that I had is now gone. So if you are download a lot, be prepared for some very large bills.
I would suggest for those who have high usage to opt for Internet service by Teksavvy.Last edited by hightech; Nov 11th, 2009 at 06:17 AM.

Reading comprehension fail. The disclaimer applies to those two products. It's not stated on that page that there is also a $25/month overage cap for the other service tiers. But it is stated on your monthly usage report page from rogers.com.
I have Extreme plus and don't ever pay more than $25/month in overage for the terabytes I'm pulling down.

It actually specifically and explicitly states the opposite. Those who signed up for the slower services prior to the specified date have no maximum cap, in all other instances the cap applies.
Most of those who did sign up for those services and care about the cap canceled and re-joined to get around that problem quite some time ago.
To reiterate, there is a maximum $25 charge at the present time no matter how many GB you go over your limit by.

Nah. It's just numbers. It's the cap that matters to me. No matter how fast the speed is. Fast speed just mean you reach the cap faster.

They always try not to make the statement clear. That is why every time when I'm planning for the huge overusage, I always call them to make sure the $25 cap is still there. And I just about to start another round of huge download and $25 cap is still good as of today.
So far my best strategy is Express + $25 = unlimited bandwidth for the month.

Why is everyone complaining about caps? Would it be easier on your wallet if it was 50mbit with no cap for $125/month? There's simply no difference.

On the web site, the * symbol applies for the first 2 grades. I don't see anywhere mentioning that there is $25 limit for other grades.
Calling rogers to confirm is great, but if the reps are misinformed of the changes, you will be held accountable.
I know that there was a $25 limit to me as well but from what I read (and heard from insiders), this is gone.
