So this makes the basic $60 plan just over $70 a month after tax.
The basic 400MB data plan is definitely inadequate and voice @150? Wow... WAY TOO OVERPRICED! Rogers is purely monopolizing the iphone market...
Unsecure Wifi ftw!!

Those plans only apply for those who want to get data right?
What if someone wants to get an iphone, but they don't want to get any data plan, can they get the normal megaplan or whatever plan they use for SE, nokia, etc?

I know nobody can KNOW at this point, but how do you think the free wifi at their hotspots will work?
Just need to be their customer? Or be on an "iPhone plan"?
I may end up with an iPhone, and a data plan.. but I will not be paying their "iPhone plan"...

Nope. You have to get their plan to get the iphone at 199. Look at the Vision plan at 7. To get the N95 or the K850, you need that vision plan to get the phone at the 3 year price. Otherwise you have to pay more. Its a stipulation they have on blackberries too. To get the lower price, you must sign a data + voice at a pre determined price to qualify for the 3 year price.

You folks don't get it. They won't GIVE you an iPhone unless you sign up on one of these plans. Brilliant, if evil.
Unlocked iPhones won't be activated on the Rogers network, at least not 3G ones.
As for the Hotspot unlimited access - it is tied to your phone number, so I guess they just waive charges when you login. That also means that if you use your cell phone number and password on a laptop, it'd be free too...

Hey guys, I added a poll to this thread.
Let's see what the general consensus is, rather than trying to tally up by reading posts
