On a side note, one of the BBV I went to said I couldn't use the credit I had on my membership from another store, so keep that in mind if you plan on spreading out your trade-ins there.

By default, BBV will put your TIV credit on your 'account' which means it is tied to that location only - not very useful unless it is the only BBV within 100 miles.

You have to ask them to put it on a trading card. Happened to me yesterday, so I asked the guy to put that balance along with the balance on two other trading cards I had onto one, single uber-trading card. Not sure why they cannot add amounts to these 'reloadable' cards like you can everywhere else, but w/e...

mixed results in Ottawa:

1) Carling and Maitland - running the promotion for any games less that $19.99, no problems, but won't discount GoW2 or any other game to $19.99. However, very little stock. I got section 8 and pure.

2) Baseline and Woodroffe - have the poster/sign up but asking that you purchase one game over $19.99 in value in order to get one free game less than $19.99. Lots of stock but not much worth getting because no games in the $20s.... mostly in the $30s and $40s.

3) Woodroofe (near futureshop) - running the promotion for any games less that $19.99, no problems, but won't discount GoW2 or any other game to $19.99. However, very little stock. I got section 8 and bioshock.

Only 1 store in the East end Ottawa had a sign up for this and it was simply the B1G1F signs they usually have for DVDs. Other stores definitely had the deal going and it was no problem at the 2 stores I purchased at.

I see, well that gives me even more reason not to try trading multiples. I mainly go to one location and they know me pretty well, so I'd rather not mess with a good thing. I'm happy with trading for movie rentals instead of buying games there.

All the games at my RP only have the PV'd price stickers on the outside of the case, not on the disc or manual. The one's on the outside of the case are easy to remove and half the time are even on the outside shrinkwrap so just require removing the shrink wrap!

those game trading cards (GTC) works just like a GC... the only diff. is the face of the card

hence you can choose to put the TIC onto a GTC or a GC... makes absolutely no diff. AFAIC

that prbly means the CSRs at your location(s) are lazy@$$e$, or that you've been buying traded games all along =D

Yeah that's the one I went last. The first one is the one in bayview/major mac and I swear to god I'd never go there anymore. Never got any good used games or even new games. Looks like they never restock.

Yeah ive gone tehre too many times and been disappointed i think bathurst will be my new #1

One RP was not running the B1G1 - the CSR even looked in the system and he told me he was sure it was over. Didn't matter as they had nothing I wanted.

As reported by others, the system is still not functioning properly. One location had to manual adjust the games while another gave me the more expensive game for free.

Also, watch your SR points - the RP that did the manual trans. did not record the points accurately. The staff claims the system has been acting up, go figure




I suspect hoarders in my stomping grounds as well - which sucks for the real gamers actually looking to play those games for cheap.

It should be 2 points per purchase pair if u did BOGO. So if you got 2 games (pair) and had BOGO.. so you'd only be getting 2 points for that transaction, rather than 4 points.

Right. It's only 2 points for the game you pay for. The one you get free you didn't 'buy' hence you don't get 2 points.

Sometimes you get lucky and get 4 points. When I did BOGO, it wasn't showing up so manually changing the dollar values allowed me to get the full 4 points.

anyone know if the newmarket rogers are doing the B1G1 promo? the aurora one is not.

I tried the Newmarket location on Yonge St. on Tuesday the 5th and they had no clue about the B1G1 deal. Stock was kinda limited at this location anyways.
