I'm in downtown Toronto and called in to upgrade our current plan. was offered ignite 60 and vip plus with tax and all rental at $143/month with a 2 yr contact. ($17 off tv and $13 off internet).

where are you located? feel like I'm not really getting that great a deal.

I've been trying to get a deal for the last few weeks, and this is the only one I've got so far.
What do you guys think? Should i just go for it.
I def. want the Rogers Plus Cable.

Rogers 60mb/s, 200gb cap
Rogers Plus cable,
No install/Act Fee.

$105 + tax = $118/m for 2 yr

Currently using teksavvy internet only, no cable service. and my month to month usage has been 130gb average.

Otherwise, if other people are wondering, it would be $85/m if Basic Cable.

I had 50% off 100u ignite plan since last year which expired last month. Called retention yesterday to see what they can offer.
I was offered 100u plan for $67 tax included with 2 year CONTRACT I said I don't want contract.
After 10mins of hold I was offered Ignite 60 Student plan with 400gb limit for $62 (1 year guaranteed) NO contract
had the same deal... I was paying 48$ until this June for the Ignite 100/10. I called them last week to ask them for a new deal.... they offered 67$ for the same plan with a 2 year contract. I said I have to shop around and I'll call back. I called back, dialed into the options to cancel the service, I told them I called before but I found a better deal and I don't want to leave. They asked me how much did I find, I said 59.99. After a couple of minutes the rep said they can do that... but still on a 2 year contract. I accepted, I'm happy with the service. I only have internet so TV, phone, everything depends on it. Happy for the next 2 years.

also the deal comes with free shomi (for what it's worth)

YMMV here but I have been on a Rogers Corporate Plan for about 6 years and just got an email that it will be phased out next month. My monthly rate will go up by $15 and my data cap will be cut in half. Needless to say, I will be looking for a new provider when I come back from my holiday in early Sept.

Speaking of Rogers cable, I have cut the cord for almost 6 years as well and do not miss it 1 beat. I just picked up an Amazon Fire TV over the weekend and being a huge sports fan, let's just say I can watch any sports game I want and I don't have to pay an arm and a leg.

Best of luck with your plans.
how do you watch sports on Amazon Fire TV? are you subscribed to something?

Background: Ignite 250u, 50% is about to expire on July 31, 2016.

I called Retention (Call 1-888-764-3771, Select Account Changes [option 4], Select Cancel Services), and told them the following:

"My 50% discount is set to expire at the end of July – I heard you guys are offering Ignite 100u for $60 / month". The Consumer Relations Representative extended the following offers to me:

1) Ignite 100u, $60 + tax, 24-month term, rate-protected, able to cancel within the first month (fees waived: installation, activation, modem rental).
2) Ignite 250u, $70 + tax, 24-month term, rate-protected, able to cancel within the first month (fees waived: installation, activation, modem rental).

I ended up going with the first option. The point of my post: be nice, don't go ballistic and threaten to cancel immediately. Mention the deal, and chances are you'll get it ;)

$59.99 + tax(ON) = 59.99 * 1.13 = 67.7887.

You were literally offered the exact same offer ($67 including tax = $59.99 before tax).

It's a good deal, considering alternative offers.

How did you reach retentions? By asking to cancel?

Also when you were offered the Student deal by retention did they know you are a current student? Or it doesn't matter whether you are a student or not?

On Rogers website, the 100u shows as $69.99/month, but 60u shows $77.99/month.
Is it price error or price for 100u just dropped?

If you try to purchase it online the order summary page says 100u is $87.99, so it's likely a price error on the main page. I guess you can try to get Rogers to honour the $69.99 pricing, but their system will probably list the correct $87.99 price.

I just got my bill post $99 Ignite bundle and this is the worst I've seen in all my years. HST value as much as the net.

And top it off, I received it by e-mail today with the due date for payment being July 31st.

Here's what I don't understand.
My regular bill prior was $110 + HST (roughly $124).
New bundle + extra box is $105 + HST (roughly $118).

Bill I just received has partial payments, which I expected, but the total payment required with HST is $170.

So, 2 months worth of payments puts me at $294.
But even if I stayed at my other more expensive rate, 2 months worth of payments is $248.
And it should be lower than that, since I had nearly 2 months (2 months less a couple days) on the newer, lower priced bundle.

Ughhh. Should I call in or wait for the next month to see if they credit something I'm missing here. These bills usually ironed themselves out in a 2 month span, not 3. Did anyone else notice the same?

The credit for the Ignite internet appears to be correct (should be $60 after credits/month). Everything else is funky. lol

For me, I was fortunate enough to have my billing cycle start at the beginning of each month and because I switched to the gigabit deal on June 1, the mess was somewhat contained all in the June invoice (which I got in July). From what I can decipher, you'll get a credit of the one-month advance payment based on your old plan (pro-rated of course if you made the switch in the middle of the billing cycle), and you'll be charged the new plan from the date you made the switch to one month in advance.

I'm glad I called in. There was a technical error in how the taxes were calculated. That's why my HST was almost as much as the net amount!
That's also the reason for the late bill, because they were addressing that issue (sounded like I wasn't the only one).

I only need to pay my balance owing, not what this bill says (in error). And moving forward, the bill is setup correctly.

And FYI, since people are letting others know, my Shomi was still included and credited even though I was told it's not included. Let's see if NHL gamecentre will also be included come September/October. :)

I'm looking into trying gigabit. Is there any deal going on or a phone number of an agent?
