Noob question guys. I'm trying to get this for my parents. They already have a plan with Rogers, is it still possible to get it?

If they are adding a service yet, if they are not no. then that "no" might turn into a yes if you complain to an arsenal of different departments but there are no guarantees.

They have a home phone, internet and tv. I was thinking if they don't offer it since we are an existing customer I would say that I would like to cancel and then sign up as a new customer and get the deal

I've quoted a recent post on dslreports:

"
April 24th $5.00 increase across the board

Internet packages not introduced recently will all go up by $5.00
express, extreme and all ignite plans 15 -30-60-100u-250-70u

and all tv by 5$ digital basic, plus and vip... not the popular, premier or select and or starter.
"

Any information in regards to this? I'm assuming (unlike Bell) it also wouldn't effect anyone on contract?

Just saw this on DSLR as well. I think it would not affect people on contracts but it would on people who are on terms? Correct me if I am wrong.

Haha don't say that to them, they will deny you. You can do that and sign up under someone else but you don't want to broadcast that to Rogers staff.

For contract, if we leave, we have to pay ECF. I am on the 2 yrs gigabit + vip contract.

However, I put my parents on a 1 yr term for the Ignite 30 student deal. They can leave without penalties so I think they are not safe from the price increase?

Term and Contract are 100% the same thing. What you might be referring to the the length of a certain discount.

Last year in April of 2016 I had to negotiate a discount for my Ignite 100u. I called in and the Rogers rep gave me 2 options:

1) 100u for $65/mth on a 1yr contract. ECF applies
2) 100u for $68/mth on a 1yr term. No ECF.

I always thought term and contract meant the same thing but after being in that scenario, I learned they are two different things: the difference being the ECF.

Getting off topic here but I will have to deal with this if/when the price increase applies to me.

Sorry to disagree but this doesn't make sense. If there is no ECF, then what does the word "term" mean and what does that 1 year period signifies? I think you must be confusing something and what was likely the case here is that the promotional pricing was valid for 1 year, but using the word "term" would make very little sense.

Anyways, not a big deal

No problem. This 100u deal from last year I speak of is from this very thread. A quick google and these guys got their 100u for $68/mth no contract:
https://forums.redflagdeals.com/rogers- ... #p25828007
https://forums.redflagdeals.com/rogers- ... #p25832693

This guy took the 2yrs $65 100u contract and mentions he can cancel within 30 days without paying ECF:
https://forums.redflagdeals.com/rogers- ... #p25834749

Here's another guy that had to think about the ECF 100u deal:
https://forums.redflagdeals.com/rogers- ... #p25804903

I remember very clearly what happened because 3 weeks after I signed for the $68 100u 1 year term, I switched over and locked into my current Gigabit + VIP deal and I was telling my friend how glad I was that I didn't lock into the $65 100u contract just to save $3/mth.

From only what you've posted, it seems a bit ambiguous but I assume you've got the log for "Yves" actually acknowledging your U63 request. That's pretty much the key...
