'Business VIP' exists to commercial addresses only (home business doesn't qualify). It's also much cheaper then residential television service ($39/month) with a 2yr contract, hd box included. -Wish- I could get it, but can't :(
Yep, correct! Business VIP does exist. $19.99 for businesses which is INSANE!

Hey guys, I got the gigabit 1Gbps from Rogers and I haven’t been getting past 400-450Mbps. Is there something I have to do to get better speeds or call tech support and report it to get it looked at?

Just wanted to dispel this myth that Premier is better than VIP. I went through over 900 channels to do the comparison and found that I will lose more than 50 channels by switching from VIP to Premier. Most of these are the Bonus channels mentioned (which now cost extra), the Canadian time-shifting, and many "on Demand" channels.

There is a thread on RFD for specifically Rogers Gigabit Modem issues.

It seems you contradict yourself by saying that most of the 50 channels you lose are unimportant ;)

In my particular case I found out that Premier gives slightly better selection of the channels I like. Matter of taste, I guess.

$96.03 tax in would be $84.99 ($85) + tax. Ignoring the hardware/rental (i'm assuming included) it likely splits to around $30tv $55 cable (+tax) - Very reasonable/acceptable prices. Good job!

Was this including the March cost increase, or is that coming to 'surprise' you next month?

What I do not understand is why ppl are getting those "entry level" TV packages. They consist mostly oftime-shifting channels and those endless stupid radio stations, at the end of the channels spectrum.

IMHO, a huge waste of money.

In that case, it is better to cut the cord cable, and get the same limited channel selection via internet..

Is not it?

ideally, i would like popular tv - the reasoning is that it has all sportsnet AND tsn channels (i am currently on basic cable, so only sportsnet) AND gigabit/500U internet (most likely 500u -- as there is a thread for gigabit internet issues so it must be a widespread issue) -- realistically, i would like to be in the $110 ballpark tax in

my latest offer is $117.95 tax in + $60 credit for select tv and 500u

gonna continue trying

also, has anyone tried the cancel and get the spouse to sign up as a "new" customer?

What entry level? Actually that is the starter package.

I currently have Digital Basic cable w/ Nextbox 3.0 PVR which is perfect for me... I watch Leafs/Jays/Raptors.. and for that, I need Sportsnet Ontario, Sportsnet One, TSN4, CBC. And my parents use it for The Weather Channel and CP24... I can get all of that in my current package.

And... I am paying $12.50/month for the past two years for what I mentioned above. That price includes PVR AND is after taxes. Now tell me if it is a waste of money.

Annoying thing is Rogers has taken Sportsnet One out from the Select package, which is definitely disappointing.

;) OK, maybe in your case it is not (waste of money). 10 bucks or so is good enough for any TV. I do not watch sports, so perhaps missed that particular aspect.

Still, in general, I have a strong feeling that all the TV packages below VIP (and now Popular/Premier) are heavily robbing the customers of their money.

New customer, was just offered Combo 3 from OP (Gigabit Internet + Popular TV) from field agent for $107/month for 24 months no contract. Anyone know how much extra Premier TV is? Deal worth taking or fight for better?

That's a great deal, doubt you'd find better. Premier TV is approx. $15-$20 more a month, I think.
