Are there any Rogers techs here that can tell me the full details of the 150U deal for new cable customers that are already with Rogers as far as mobile phones go?
I have been offered a 150U deal, unlimited for 1 year at $49.99 rather than $79.99 and told at the 9 month mark that can be negotiated again.
I am presently using the unlimited Bell Fibre 50 plan at $79 monthly.
Up to 50 Mbps download speed and 10 Mbps for upload speed.
I blank out at the numbers for speed so am not sure what that would be equivalent to in Rogers terms speed wise?
I know that i am fine with the speed I get at present, if that helps?
I use one main computer and we have a few iPads going periodically but not enough that they infringe upon my speed.
We have 3 tvs that we use for Netflix or stream content from the computer on apple tv but rarely is more than one tv going at the same time.
So looking for at least comparable speed, unlimited internet.
If the 150U deal is comparable, than I have to decide of the switch is worth it just to save $30 monthly for one year.
We dont use TV so we have not looked at any of the TV packages and doubt we would as it is too frustrating to deal with commercials.
So it would have to be quite an enticing package for me to consider TV at all, although I do miss the news channels.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you ahead of time.

It's easily comparable. As to savings, you're looking at the wrong number. $30x12x1.13 = $406.80
Is it worth doing to only save $400 over a year? Fido has (has) 75u at $32.50/month. The annual savings with that you could be looking at ($89.27-36.72)x12= $630.60
The savings you could get with either are more then enough to switch. If cable has speed issues in your area, you could always just switch back to bell (hopefully with them giving you a discount for returning to them)

Thanks for thats a healthier savings so I will go check it out but I haven't ever used Fido although I am sure they would be in my area.cleacy1972 wrote: ↑Aug 7th, 2018 4:13 pmIt's easily comparable. As to savings, you're looking at the wrong number. $30x12x1.13 = $406.80

My question however would be how much of a difference would I notice from 150u to just 75u.
Everyone loves to save money but I dont want to lose the speed, ease and reliability I have now.
Edit: 75u seems to be $65 in my area. Will give them a call and double check it.

how did I do? I heard others got the same deal for $29.99?
maybe I should just cancel and go with Carrytel

Sorry checked - Looks like that promotion (with Fido) stopped being offered start of the summer. Carrytel and Cannet both to my knowledge still have ongoing 75u promotions in the $30-40 range. That's also worth looking into. If you've been using a 50mb dsl connection with no difficulties, 75mb cable should also work just fine: Keeping in mind however it's a different network topology. Some areas both work equally, while in others dsl/or cable (or both) could suck.SB4Deals wrote: ↑Aug 7th, 2018 4:23 pmThanks for thats a healthier savings so I will go check it out but I haven't ever used Fido although I am sure they would be in my area.

Just called as my 2 year promo was ending.
Got to continue with: Gigabit Internet, Popular TV, HD PVR.
$4 more than last year. $116 all in.

That's what I did being in the same situation as you (wouldn't budge on $49.99 500U). Had my Carrytel set up a week before Rogers cancellation to compare the two and found it to be fine. That said, I called Rogers with two days left before cancellation (and within the 7 day cancellation period for Carrytel) and they offered me the $29.99 deal.

Everyone always says they offer the best deals, that's what makes sales funsilky28 wrote: ↑Aug 6th, 2018 5:48 pmNope. I called to speak to retentions and didn't like the deals she was offering. CSR said he offered the best loyalty plans she could so I said I understand and asked to setup a cancellation date. Suddenly someone with more clout arrived and offered me the deal.
