If you've been reading this thread, there's been at least 3 different offers for gigabit alone.
Some people $29.99, some $39.99 and some $44.99.

Not sure what to say to get the deal. I said my friend got it, history of spotty service, already got a better deal, need better price etc.

Nothing yet

sO what happens after 12 months? go back to paying the ridic amount?
Yes, or check out redflags to see what the current offerings are and try your best to get them to offer you the same or better.
It's annoying to have to bother with this every single year, but that's how it is.

I was on the Gigabit plan for $34.99 and it will be expiring next month. I logged into my Rogers account and was offered a 1 year promo for Gigabit for $39.99 (so $5 more).
I took the offer as it saved me the hassle of calling and dealing with Rogers retention/loyalty, and regardless of the $5 increase, it is still a great price.
I noticed in the confirmation email it says that I'm getting Ignite Internet Gigabit for $39.99, and in the details it broke it down to "$29.989999999999995 + $10.0/mo. modem rental"
I had considered if I should see if I can get the $10 charge removed as I thought their offerings included the modem rental in 1 price but I went onto Rogers.com and I see that they break down the pricing to a Service price and a Modem rental for $10 as well.

Also shortly after I accepted the offer, I noticed that my Rogers modem rebooted. Not sure if it is coincidence or not (the modem has been up for 73 days already) but I'm guessing that I was re-provisioned for Gigabit (despite having Gigabit already). So you might not want to accept the offer right at that moment if someone in your household is in the middle of something important online.

Actually 4 if you're counting, since one lucky guy got offered it for $8X.XX.

I've tried with 3 chat agents last night, between 9pm to 12pm, none of them could help.

Tried a chat agent this morning they told me to call the 1-866-737-4159 number - I had to call twice, because first agent said this was a deal in December which got extended few weeks into January and doesn't exist anymore, even though I said I had a cousin who received the deal yesterday, and she insisted the deal doesn't exist and doesn't know how my cousin got the deal. So I tried again and second agent said they do not see the deal at all, had me on hold for a few minutes so that they could check what they could see on my account, and came back with an offer that was $2 higher than my current offer of about $90/month, lol.

I'm on ~$90/month gigabit which was up in December, which I extended for another year in January - seems like there is no way for me to get this deal :(.

I'm going through a cancellation request now because well, January I had 4 internet disconnects while I was working at home, one during an important meeting call with a client, the other times were important too with getting regular work done but that one time was on a call with a client, which was pretty bad. I had to wifi hotspot off my phone during those times, and use up most of my mobile data... so that plus the best offer they can give me being more expensive than my current offer, I'll find another provider.

You should be able to get a $10 credit for the modem rental. I got the $30 gigabit last night but didn't get the $10 modem rental charge.

Yes I know. In my first reply I noted that I was offered $53 then $38. I turned them both down and was then offered the $30.
Um, you didn't know modem charge is included (in your offer) and you were misleading people about their higher offer compared to yours. The other member got a higher priced offer than you, and both your offers include a $10 modem charge. Your posts make it seem as if your offer didn't include a modem charge, and they got an extra modem charge. In reality, they're two different price points period before the $10 modem charge that both have.

Had to laugh as they have my rate breakdown as

$19.999999999999999999999 + $10 Modem

They are squeezing every part of the last cent out of me that they can ...
I'd rather be outdoors camping, kayaking, and mountain biking ...

We just logged in to $29.98 for 1GB plus $10 modem rental fee for another 12 months, we are up mid April as well. Currently we are paying $24.99 including modem rental for 500u so we will have to call in to keep the modem rental rebate even though they have to send a rep out to install. Thanks OP for the heads up

edit: said we may be contacted buy already have the gigabit modem so should be good...fighting for the $10 rebate still

Why? Aren't you already using a gigabit modem since the previous rocket modem can't handle 500u?
