Lets be honest, when will you see Rogers and the word 'FREE' together?
That's pretty rare which is why this consider a DEAL.
Been using this for years and have been great while on trips to call back home in Canada!

To MODS,
I've searched and see it as EXPIRED Deal? but offer still available.
Previously post can be found HERE.

So what is it?

Long story short, its a VoIP client/app that allows UNLIMITED calling within CANADA, I stress only CANADA.
This is only for ROGERS CUSTOMERS!
You can make long distance calls for special rates.
Also great for people going out of country on trips/vacation and low signal coverage.
You can use a PC/MAC/mobile/tablet to make both regular calls, video calls, send text, check email (selective to Yahoo and Gmail?).

Again allows calls to any CANADIAN NUMBER for FREE. PLEASE NOTE! Long Distance CHARGES do APPLY for NON CANADIAN NUMBERS!

Simple Example how it works
Business trip to Cuba, open APP call back home in Canada to check on the family. FREE!
Pick up call from APP regardless of who calls, FREE!
Call a Cuba number with APP, long distance charges!

Cool features
Call Block
- A lot of spam calls? No problem just add the number to the list and never hear from them again!
Call Pull
- basically what it sounds, have a call on the tablet app and have to go out, just dial a special star code and call gets pulled to the mobile
Call Forwarding
- Self Explanatory
Ring Multiple Numbers
- Basically setup multiple number (ie. Office, Home) that you can be reached, someone calls you cell phone number all the listed number will ring
FYI for those with wireless plans that have limited talk min
Rogers introduced WiFi Calling feature and trying to sway people away from Rogers One Number.
Basically the two are similar, WiFi Calling is integrated in some phones, so basically Rogers One Number just without the app, but you lose the list of Cool Features.
Also WiFi Calling is restricted to iPhones 5c and up models subject to firmware upgrade.
One big catch as well, WiFi Calling eats away your minutes where as Rogers One Number is unlimited calling.
So for those who have limited mins this would be a service to avoid.
Only Rogers One Number have unlimited calling that does not eat from your wireless plan minutes.

Good comparison article of Wifi Calling and Rogers One Number made here: http://communityforums.rogers.com/t5/fo ... ad-id/1959

You actually believe that is free?

Why don't you give me $2,400 a year and I'll give you free HD TV channels with an Android box and a VOIP service.

This is only for ROGERS CUSTOMERS!
CORRECTION: This is only for ROGERS "WIRELESS" CUSTOMERS.

In other words you need to have a Rogers cell phone plan. This will not work if you are only a Rogers High Speed Cable Internet Customer.

I've been using RON for a while now. Definitely worthwhile to call back to Canada while roaming.
You can also send free sms back to Canada using the app!

You require data or wifi to use this app correct?

I guess this goes without saying... "Make sure you are connected to a local wifi" before using RON while out of Canada. Otherwise Rogers will be happy.

Well, you'll need local wifi wherever you go. Otherwise, you'd get dinged donged

yes both are good. but voip service can be difficult on 3g or 4g or hspa. LTE is way better but its not always the case.

I use it all the time on my computer browser to text message folks. Definitely beats unlocking my phone every time. I love it......also allows ya to download voice mail messages and if you delete them on Rogers One Number, they usually also delete from my phone so I don't see the icon. I like it.

Do they give you / assign you a local phone number ... so you can also receive phone calls? (say local phone calls)?
