Rogers vs. Bell - Question

I'm sure plenty of you have seen the Rogers vs. Bell Telephone ads lately. Rogers seems to offer a good deal...but because it's Rogers I don't want to sign up.

My question is has anyone taken the deal Rogers is offering and went to Bell to see if they would match it ?

I don't have a land line and looking to finally get one...would go to Bell if they match Rogers' offer.

Anybody have any luck or tried yet ?

(Cellphone) On a side note, I've heard of Bell targetting past users and offering them better rates than whatever they're getting with their current mobility carrier.

As per your question, not sure because that wars mainly just out east. The west is peaceful .

Go with Teksavvy. They offer lines leased from Bell with cheap prices and great long-distance pricing.

The Rogers deal is *NOT* good. It is just shady advertising.

For example around here they like to tout their $19.95 /month plan. If you read the fine print though, you will see that this *DOES NOT INCLUDE* a $6.95 system access fee. And after the first year price jumps to $29.95/ month. Meanwhile I can get plain old Bell/Aliant for $22 / month with no SAF garbage.

Plus, if you get Rogers Home phone and have a DSL line. You have to subscribe a dry loop on top of your internet monthly fee ($8 to 9 / mth)

Unless you want to deal with the devil and use Rogers cable internet.
