I talked to retentions 4 hours ago and was offered the standard $10 retentions value pack.

I just got off the phone from a second conversation with them today and the rep told me the $10 retentions value pack was no longer available. He's full of crap, right?

hi, first time poster on this thread, was just wondering if there are any suggestions on how to improve my plan. I'm currently already on a retention plan but my bill is still always high. Whats really killing me is the daytime minutes. Is it possible to get this plan which I currently have down to about 55-60 as well as get additional daytime minutes? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

This is what I currently have:

250/Unlimited Eve/Wkds Plan 25.00
6GB BlackBerry Service 30.00
Savings: $10 Data Discount -10.00
Savings: Monthly Plan Credit 3 Yr -5.00
Unlimited Incoming Calls 10.00
Rogers To Rogers Calling 5.00
Savings: Rogers to Rogers -5.00
100 Anytime Canadian LD Mins 5.00
Savings: 100 Anytime CDN LD Mins -5.00
Value Pack 10.00
Gov't Regulatory Recovery Fee 2.35
Call Forwarding/Call Transfer 3.00
Savings: Call Forwarding/Transfer -3.00
Total before taxes: $63.66
HST $8.28
Total for Wireless: $71.94

To be honest, I had no idea rogers customers can get such reasonable prices... I pay around $180-$200 for a 2-line family plan
400 Shared Minutes (we go over this sometimes)
UNLIMITED from 9 PM
UNLIMITED Messaging
1GB Shared Data + 1GB ($15)
Call Display w/Name Display 2x($8)
That's a total of $191.89 for this month. I have actually called retention a few times but they keep saying I have the best plan they can offer me

would anyone be able to call for me to get a better deal? maybe we can work something out, lol

i gave a call after receiving outragous long distance charges (my fault, just didnt notice).

The operator offered to remove all overages ($58 in credit), and to offer my next full month free while I decide on whether to re up or not.

he also offered the 25$ plan, a $20 'iphone plan', keep my $30 6gb, -10$ credit for roughly 67$.

now I am super appreciative of the free month and charges removed, i beleive i was offered a weak plan.

Do the Flex plans still exist at 10$ ? and what incriments of data does it go up by?

I want to work towards the 17.50$ plan with 17.50 discount, then the retention $10 pack, $30 data, and some LD added.

Are these still possible to achieve or have i waited way too long?

17.50$ plan and plan discounts can't co-exist
I was even told they can't credit any features with this plan (BS?)
Only data add-on can be discounted.

Knowing that retentions reps will tell outright lies to their customers really makes me want to renew with Rogers.

Yes, exactly, I have now an outstanding retention plan with Robbers. However, it took me 3 months to sort everything out. I run now concurrently Wind and Rogers and I see no difference in GTA in terms of reception, speed or coverage but I am getting so much more with my Holiday plan with Wind. The only problem for me that I am in 3 years jail term with Rogers and thus I will strip my Rogers plan to its bones and I will not renew with Robbers even if they propose something similar to Wind in the future.

Mobi had recently $200 port in credit but I hear you, I am in the same position with 24 months left. I do not want to pay ETF and thus I keep my Robbers phone as an emergency phone.

so i currently just have a 17.50 retention voice plan from last year and nothing else. i'm going to try to add a texting/call display/etc.. value pack deal and maybe a data plan if i can find something cheap and small (nothing serious). i keep reading about this $10 value pack deal? what is that supposed to be? i did some backtracking in this thread and it seems to be the normal $15 one but with a $5 credit. is that correct?

also, what is the most basic data plan? i'm only going to be getting a dataplan for very very basic mobile sites and don't need anything like the 1gb plan and such. any ideas?

i've been with rogers for 2 years i believe.

The value pack is 10$, it's not 15-5$. And the most basic data plan is the flex plan which starts at 15$ I believe for 150 mb. The more you use, the more it ends up costing thus the name flex.
