Hi, my Rogers plan just expired and they've put me on the same plan as before. I'm going to get an iPhone 5 when it comes out later on this summer - how should I approach this? Should I bargain for a deal now? Thanks!

6G for $30 still available
I went over my 500mb and called them, they offered me the 6G for $5 extra.
So I have the corporate 17.50 plan with 6G data $30 less 10% bundle discount less $5. I think it comes to around $45 all in

I'm 1.5 years into a 3 year contract, on a really good plan.
Think two $10 credits on a $20 plan, plus a $10 data credit for my 6 gb data plan, and everything else credited with feature specific credits (Unlimited incoming, rogers to rogers, caller id, early evenings etc.) and SAF fee credited. I pay $20.75 a month before taxes.
I was hoping to avoid having to call retentions given my good plan, but my Blackberry crapped out, and I can no longer make outgoing calls with it, so need a new phone.
I'd be happy to renew with Rogers if they can renew all my credits, but given the current climate of retentions I am thinking this is going to be a difficult task.
Can anyone suggest any strategies in getting my credits renewed? Should I just keep calling until I happen to hit on a good rep?
Has anyone recently been able to get a new phone on a low dollar monthly plan, at 3 year subsidy price?

The whole point of a 3yr contract is so that you don't have to WORRY OR DO ANYTHING in that time frame. Why praytell are you so concerned about renewing your contract with a company which in all rights has no interest in preserving top-end retention deals-in what is obviously a long-shot (but still achievable) to impossible goal?

I don't understand how this is possible. I called yesterday and they told me their policy was to no longer stack credits. I've lost my value pack credit and they refuse to add it back on because I have a $10 credit for my 6GB data and credited early evening calling. I've got a little over a year left on my contract.
They will only offer me the 17.50 EPP plan if I renew for another 3 years, and they have some $32 plan with 200 min, ul eve/wknd + local calls from 6, My10, and unlimited messaging which doesn't solve anything but saving $3 while losing voicemail and call display (which they now offer as a package for $7 - 3 voice messages/3 days).
Currently I've got
$25 plan (250 min ul eve/wknd from 6, 100 cdn LD)
$20 6GB data
$10 Value pack (2500 txt/vm/cd/nd)
$48.57 before taxLast edited by proj; May 24th, 2012 at 11:23 AM.

I absolutely agree. With paying $20 and some change, it wudn't even make sense to switch. Buy urself an unlocked phone and play out ur contract and see what happens in 1.5yrs. I don't even think the new entrants can sustain the low prices. Paying $45 for voice/data will be a norm if it isn't yet.

Your best option is to buy a new 9900 outright from Rogers or on Craigslist. Rogers has clamped down on high discount plans and they are saying "so sad, too bad, we have you by the balls because you signed a contract". IMHO, the risk of calling in would be too high assuming you are paying less than $50 per month. My comments would be different if your monthly bills are say $80 per month.

I am still under the old system, paying 6.95 for System access Fee.
Is it better or Can I ask to be switched to the government regulatory fee which is only like $3?
All my credit also expired in my 2nd of 3 year term. Anyone having success with rentention lately? I am paying $45 this month for lousy items (250min+R2R,SAF,ValuePack)
I also have option to use a corporate $17.50+govn reg fee plan 250min, per second billing, basic VM, 125 SMS. Worth it?Last edited by bestknightmare; May 26th, 2012 at 02:25 AM.
