this is a really rich plan...no vm/cid though?

if it was me, id actually take the $5 extra to get 6gb LTe data and sign for 3 yrs...you cna always downgrade if you need to, but going up not always possible.

Just reupped two lines whose contracts had expired. Didn't want to switch to Wind quite just yet.

Not exactly thrilled with what I ended up getting compared to the plans I had, but this was the best I could do after multiple calls and both phones were on their last legs.

Anyone see any wiggle room I don't?

Line 1:

Samsung GS3: $159 with activation fee waived.

250 Wkday & Unlimited Eve/Wknd 20.00
Canadian LD Anytime Option 5.00
6GB LTE Data Sharing Plan* 30.00
Value Pack* 10.00 ( Call Display, Name Display, Enhanced Voicemail, 2500 Sent/Unlimited Received Text Messages)
9-1-1 Emergency Access Fee 0.75
System Access Fee 6.95
Savings: 10% Off-Better Choice Bundles -4.50
Savings: Monthly Fee Discount -15.00

Total: ~$60/ month. I was paying $45 for the same plan a few months ago before all the credits dropped off when the contract expired.

Line 2: IPhone 4S for $159 with the activation fee waived. The same plan (including discounts and 100 bonus minutes)with 500 MB LTE Data for $25 and a note on my account that it will be bumped up to 6G when it is available without resetting the contract. ~$55

Every rep I had spoken to previously wouldn't even extend credits at all, just kept saying you have a great plan (@~$70/month) and Rogers couldn't do any better. Need the roaming otherwise would have gone with Wind. Oh well.

The one rep I did manage to get to offer the $15 credit for 3 years tried to place a data credit as well of both $5 and $10 but he said the system wouldn't let him put anymore credits on the account.

That needs to go, You are signing a new contract It should be the government fee instead of SAF as SAF Is only for grandfathered plans correct? That'll save you like $4'ish..

Anybody been able to get on the $17.50 voice plan recently?

I'm looking to get the $17.50 + $30 6gb data.
I was told by two different reps that this is no longer available in the system. YMMV.

I looked at that route, problem was the equivalent plan works out to being a few dollars more a month (like $1 or $2). What I really wanted was to get back on the $17.50 plan but the rep couldn't find it.

I don't get It, $6.95 Is more pricier then GRRF which Is like $2-$3!

The retention 250 min and Early Eve/Weekends was something like $25 + $3 for GRRF. At least that's what the rep told me, who had been pretty cooperative so I tend to lean towards the "he wasn't flat out lying to me" side. There may have been miscommunication however.

I highly doubt that's the case.. Just call them again and explain to them that your friends/family that have recently renewed on a new contract no longer pays SAF and only GRRF. They should most likely honor It because I think that's the correct thing to do because SAF Is long gone.. Except for grandfathered plans IIRC.

When I was working on renewing my contract back to 3 years I asked the Rogers CSR "This system access fee Is really expensive at $6.50-$7.. How can I get rid of It?"
The Rogers CSR explained to me that new contracts are under the GRRF and not SAF anymore..

If you go the GRRF route, your plan's price point increased by $5. GRRF and SAF are very similar in price depending on the province. Rogers was slick with their new "GRRF" by stating it was cheaper than the SAF (which it is), however all of their plans increased in price to make them earn the same amount.

edit: so in this case his plan (Max Air) is $20 + 6.95 = $26.95. Under GRRF the Max Air plan is $25, and his plan would be $25 + GRRF ($3) = $28. Thus it's $1.05 cheaper under SAF. Don't be fooled by the GRRF lol.

+1

they can't just replace the SAF of an old plan with GRRF. the GRRF goes with their newer plans and like hvc said their newer plans are obviously more expensive..lol..remember..robbers

the best thing is try to get that SAF credited. but that won't be easy to come by.

I called twice this morning too and I got the same answer, the rep told me they have new plans since one week, and the plan 17.50 doesn't exist anymore
