How would you say I should call in and ask. Long story short this line I am trying to cancel had a good retentions plan but a few months in got audited and the discounts were removed. Now, I've been paying about 65 or so a month and want to switch to wind. I had dealt with the office of the president, but with no resolution.
Would you say I call in and be like a friend has a contract that started around the same time and he told me he was offered 12.50 to cancel his contract. Or should I ask how much is it to cancel my contract at this point.
If so, who should I speak to? Retentions or regular reps?

Bah, no matter how I ask or who I talk too, the max credits I can get on this 6gb superplan is $10...Guess i'm waiting for the BTS specials

Just called into Rogers to extend/convert my remaining plan. without renewing the contact (have about 6.5 months left until my contract expired) was able to get the following credits for the next 12 months.
(superplan)
6GB Lte date
200w/d minutes
unlimited sms text/photo text etc..
my10 canada wide
caller id ($8 with $4 credit)
free incoming calls for first 6 months of conversion
$15 plan credit
The total cost is $60 + $8 - $4 - $15 ... total cost $49 per month plus hst inclusive system access fee. Not sure about 911 costs/fee...

i just got brand NEW line for super 60 with Galaxy S3. I called retention couple times for BRAND NEW LINE to get some discounts but they dont give me any since the line is opened today.. anyone able to get any discounts on your BRAND NEW line?

For $53.75 any good?
Since tomorrow's the last day for the $60 super plan, I want to confirm this once I know if its a good deal. They no longer do the $30 for 6gb LTE anymore, so anything 6gb LTE needs to be though this superplan.
Unfortunately though, they can't offer any credits on this plan as its a "package deal", but could only offer me a $4.25 credit on CID/VM
Should I get this or hold off until any BTS deals or LTE data packages when iPhone5 comes out (im scared this deal wont come in such a nice package again for a while)

I did not say its not worth $50/month. Obviously I think my plan is a good one or else I won't even consider keeping it but that is not my main point of the post. Its about what they promised to offer me if I agree in a timely-manner, and then denying it. We honestly don't know did the 1st rep screw up, and based on my years dealing with Rogers, I've learnt to never trust them when they say "no it can't be done". They are representatives of Rogers, if we don't hold accountable for what they've said, or offered... what's the point of negotiating? what's the point of having a verbal agreement?
I also don't think its fair to conclude that the 1st rep screwed up. We all know calling Rogers has always been a hit or miss with lots of unknowns and lies involved. Or else this thread won't even exist.
Having to make them honour an offered/verbal agreement IS a pain. This is the message you should be getting.

Point of note: My5/My10 are by definition 'unlimited'. You don't need to tell us you withdrew cash from an ATM MACHINE...it's implicit. Local Vs. National my5/my10, yes that's variable. Otherwise, it's understood

The plan isn't 'such a nice' one, it's O-KAYYY.
Competition is only getting stronger. When you call and get a regular rep, tell them you want to cancel this line and they will have to transfer you to retentions as a regular rep has no power to cancel lines. Then, when you get to retentions, tell them you want to cancel this line and you also want to confirm that it is $12.50 to cancel. See what they'll do for you.

Any idea how much of a discount you can get on a plan once 3 years are completed and subsidy is paid? Also wondering for my next iphone if it might be better to just buy outright from apple factory unlocked.
