[Rogers] Rogers 500u Internet - $24.99 Extended For Another 12 Months (YMMV, Targeted offer)

Hi all

I got the $24.99 deal back in March 2018 and it was suppose to last for 12 months ending in March 2019.

Today, July 18, 2018, I got a letter by mail from Rogers stating the offer is extended for another 12 months.

I called Rogers and the rep confirmed it was extended to March 2020 now.

You might want to check your mail in the next few days if you have the 24.99 promo. Good luck

I got a mail today which was dated July 11, 2018 - although it says it's been extended for additional 12 months, it says "You can continue to enjoy great value until March 24,2019". Since I didn't sign up March 2017, this letter doesn't make sense. Does yours say the same thing and you called to clarify?

New RFD member here - How exactly do you get a deal like this in the first place? Current price for 500 mbps is $128/mo

Can someone post a copy of letter. I just called Rogers and they said they don't see anything as an extension on my account. Is this a postal code specific only

A few months back an RFD member revealed a targeted offer to *existing* Rogers customers with specific postal codes that were able to get Gigabit-like speeds from Bell.

However many RFDers reported luck in getting the offer even when they weren’t Rogers customers, and then the thread went insane when those who weren’t eligible (because their postal code wasn’t showing they’d get the Gigabit speeds from Bell.ca) found a way to convince the Rogers CSRs to ask their managers to approve the 500u for $25. Some also got Gigabit-U for around $35. While it was hard to get the deal at first while not being eligible, after a few days you could likely get the deal within minutes of talking to a CSR (as I did for a family member).

This lasted for probably a week or so, then Rogers was only offering the same 500u for $39 for 2 years.

Check Bell.ca to see if you can get gigabit speeds. If you can, call Rogers and ask them about it and you might get a better offer, although the $25 for 500u offer is completely off the table when you call in (they’ll mention the offer has expired).

They sent me a letter, extending my gigabit + VIP tv bundle promo for another year. House, not a building or condo.

We hope you're enjoying your TV and Internet package.
As a token of our appreciation we would like to extend your monthly promotional rate for an additional 12 months. You can continue to enjoy great value until xxx-yyyy.
You don't have to do a thing. Your extended promotional rate will be automatically applied to your Rogers account, etc etc.
Forgot to add that my promo was about to end this month anyway. So this letter just saves me the trouble of calling in.

Looks like there is alerts on accounts that got this letter or txt msg. Stating that reps should let ppl know they are until 2020.

So they realize they made a mistake.

Yep, mainly in new development and condo buildings from what I observed.
Too bad for us who are not in those dwellings.
I have also tried calling them and no luck.
Therefore, I am not using Rogers even though the infrastructure is Rogers.
