Honestly the new editor sucks and whatever done in the backend has made the forum lag and unresponsive.
Also on the mobile site, some plugins must've broke the feature that allowed people to only load images when you click on the link since they're hidden first. That was a great feature plus it would scale down the pictures to fit.
Please do a rollback to before this fiasco started. The upgrades SUCK!!!
I'm sure every good admin makes a backup. Right?![]()

The site was incredibly fast last night, and the enhanced editor and auto save feature is great. There were a few hiccups from yesterday and they've been at it ever since then with their fine tuning. Lets cut the guy some slack, its around 1AM in the night over there, and he is still digging through, bit by bit, byte by byte to troubleshoot. Give it a few hours or a day and everything will be back to normal, its just a minor inconvenience to us but not something that is the end of the world.

I personally don't like the editor at all. It doesn't look very nice.
Also it doesn't support webkit for WYSIWYG. Its pretty useless IMHO.

how about giving the update a little time for all the kinks to be ironed out first?

Here are my honest opinions/thoughts and please don't hurt me for it

1) The editor/text box's new auto save feature is nice, something I have been longing for a while now. Of course it will take some time for me to get used to it.
2) The auto quoting feature in the PM can be a tad annoying at times. Sometimes there are instances where I don't want to quote a PM.
3) Under the "Post Area" tab all the threads are in bold as opposed to a regular font style before. This kind of hurts my eyes.
4) The PMs were all in bold for read messages whilst new messages were not in bold. However that's been fixed so that's fine.
5) The search feature in the Inbox is nice.
Other than that minus the server kink last night, I'd rate the new layout/improvements, etc a 7/10Last edited by djemzine; Jun 14th, 2012 at 10:26 AM.

I voted "no", because I just want them to FIX the things that are broken, not go back a step.
Change because there's an improvement = good. Change for change's sake (or to increase revenue) not so good.

The "last page" button on the "touch" site (i.e. the one served to iOS devices) goes to the first page now. Is that related to the updates? It's a deal breaker for me.

Thanks for your feedback in the new forum upgrades! First off, I want to say that I love the passion for the forums and community.
Secondly, We will not be rolling back to the old version, we do believe the new version will be and is better from the last version and it will improve the quality and user experience in the forums.
I do realize that we had a couple of hiccups but that was to be expected when you upgrade the forums. From other upgrades I've been apart of, this one has gone relatively smooth.
Once everything is sorted out and addressed, it will be like nothing ever happened. Well besides the site being faster and having auto save!_______________
