Rona:Bostitch Roofing Nailer and Compressor Kit $209 (Reg. $523)
Just got the Rona flyer today for Halifax and saw this, seems like a pretty good deal to me.Bostitch kit includes a roofing coil nailer, a 50' hose and a compressor.
Link
Description:
Roofing nailer for industrial use. Magnesium case. Exclusive single action canister for fast one-step nail loading. Rubber frame protectors keeps nailer from sliding off roof and protects frame from abrasive shingles. Tool-free depth adjustment for perfect flush nailing. Exclusive lock-out feature so tool will not drive, when empty. Hardened nose with carbide inserts. Rubber grip for comfort and temperature protection. 1,050 in./lb power. Compressor: 2-HP pump. 50-ft. hose included.
Edit: even when I type it on the site it shows the regular price. So I don't know if the sale is chain wide or just local. You'd probably have to go in and check to be sure.

Good price, but how many people are going to get much use out of a roofing nailer?
Might be better off buying a more versatile kit, or just spending the same $ on a better compressor.

HD doesn't carry this (i mean the combo). Also does anyone know the warranty on this? Bostich usually offers a 7 year warranty on most of their nailers etc
Also, HD only has to price match if its a regular priced item. They usually won't match a promotion (i've tried it twice in ottawa, and Toronto)

If its a 7 year warranty, its well worth the buy. The roofing nailer alone is $ 399 at HD last time i checked. Compressor doesnt' look that bad either...you can always buy a brad nailer and u have a nice kit for $ 320 or so ($ 120 for brad nailer)

According to the Bostich website, it's a 7 year warranty.

Seems to be a local deal only. Talked to customer service and they said its only avaliable at certain stores across Canada. The item is discontued. I called all the Calgary stores with no luck.
Any chance the flyer can be posted as the only flyer to show up for Rona is the national one and yep I tried Halifax postal codes and looked in the Halifax papers.
Great price for an excellent nailer. I need it for hardie siding.

Newbie
I tried Rona at Midland and McNicoll. All sold out. I talked to the tool guy and he said it is a closeout item and if it is gone, it is gone. No rainchecks. I now see some these items being sold in Kijiji.

i checked a rona in coquitlam, bc and they had two but no markdown. i talked to the manager and he was unaware of any sale on them, their system only showed a previous discount price of $373 which he offered. he did say they have had them for a long time and wouldnt be surprised if they were blowing them out, but since i had no proof of this at all that was the end of the conversation.
could anyone with a flyer for this scan and post it with the date somewhere? i also notice it is no longer listed on the website.

I was able to buy one on www.rona.ca on October 17. They have now removed it from the website. I bought it for full price and they then honoured the sale price and credited me back the difference.
Had it shipped (for free) to my local Rona. Picked it up yesterday.
Pickup was hassle-free.
BTW, shopping on www.rona.ca is easy. Customer service was *GREAT* to deal with the 2 times I called them with questions (thanks Sophie and Simon).
The sale is now over (it was October 14-20). www.sears.ca also has them on their website. No idea if they had any stock or not.
