I bought a dewalt cordless combo on sale. Cutout tool and drywall gun 2yrs ago. Was amazing as u had to do a whole bsmt. All the electrical boxes cut out perfect and the drywall gun was better than any drywall bit (tried them. Nor nearly as good)the only thing I wished for was a auto feeder. And here it is now. Wish I had this 2yrs ago for that reno.scotsum wrote: ↑ during my basement project, the handyman I worked with had one of these dewalt magazine screw loaders & I gotta say, ITS DA BOMB! match this with your drywall gun & its an unbeatable combo for quick painless drywalling.

I've used this exact tool (a friend of mine's), and it's very useful. If you're planning a basement/room renovation where you are going to hang a few sheets of drywall, this tool is worth it at $40 all-in. Its regular price wouldn't be worth it for small jobs but for a basement, I think it's still worth it. It's much faster setting screws using this screw gun then a drill + drywall bit. Doing drywall sucks and anything to make the job go by faster with less strain is worth considering.synbest wrote: ↑ This thing is useless. I'd rather buy a drywall set bit for $4.

I have an older model of this and used it for a cedar deck - found it much quicker than an impact driver without overdriving any screws. Well worth it for under $40 if you're ever going to be doing a significant amount of drywall or a deck. I would guess it's probably good for installing a lot of fencing too.anotherbargainhunter wrote: ↑ I am tempted but I don't think this tool is something that people have it around for "just in case" situation. I don't know when I will be needing to install drywall myself. Are there any other use for this gun other than to hang drywal?

You can get one at Home Depot in the small area that has dremel stuff. I bought a new bit for my dewalt cutout tool and you don't realize how crap a worn out one is until you get a brand new one. I think it was something like $8JesusDeals wrote: ↑ Kinda off topic but all you expert drywallers know of any good place or website to buy a replacement bit for a dewalt cutout tool. Both HD and Rona/Lowe’s are ridiculously expensive at $25-$30

Not just Rona. HD and Lowe's also send pick up notification sometime without actually reserving the item. Which is very annoying for items with limited quantity.RubberHumpty wrote: ↑ They are doing bad customer service.
When one ordered something online, they should put it aside for pickup. Yesterday, I went rona midland and picked the online ordered gun, the lady just went out to find it.
