Router is dying.. Any recommendations?

My router is dying. I don't know which one to get. Any suggestions?

It depends on your price range and how big the area is. I've had good results picking up a TL-WR941ND for $35 and flashing it with dd-wrt. Before flashing, it wouldn't work well. Now it's a godsend.

Also depending on why you think your router is dying, I suggest you update the firmware on the router first before spending money on a new one. Because usually updating that fixes most common issues people have.

+1 on either the Asus RT-n66u or RT-AC66u.

The EA6500 refurb with DDWRT seems like a good bet too if you know how to use DDWRT.

I'll give it a try with a new firmware first.

My house is about 3000 sqft. About 5 devices on at a time at most. I'm looking for something below $100 before taxes.
