Router malfunctioning?
I have a dlink dir-655 router. Everything worked fine as of last night. My iphone and ps3 weren't working wirelessly.
This morning I managed to connect to another "wireless" network in my building and my iphone is able to connect using wifi.
Can i test my router somehow? I went into the settings but there is way too many options etc and never changed any. Plus things worked fine as they were, Nothing I did changed.
Any ideas?
I can't access www.dlink.ca either, internal server error 500"??

Try unplugging it for a few mins and plugging it back in.

Did that last night. I just tried a hard reset. I am trying to access the settings and its timing out. Grrrrr so frustrating.
I can't even access 192.168.0.1

Plug a wired computer into the router, and do an ipconfig to see what ip you got.
if it's a 169 ip, then in windows force it to an ip like 192.168.0.200 then try to log into the router.
Also look at the lights on the router - if they're all on and nothing's plugged into then you probably will have to call dlink.

So plug the ethernet from the modem into the router then ipconfig? I have a Mac if that makes a difference? I still can't access 192.168.0.1

Plug your computer using ethernet wire to the ethernet port of the router (not the WAN port of router).
Force your mac computer to take on an ip address of 192.168.0.200 then try to access the router again. What im guessing is that you'll see a page that says firmware upgrade.
I suppose the first question is what lights are on for the router.
Shouldnt you be calling dlink for this? they can sort this out in 10 mins.
