Router recommendations
I'm currently on Bell's Fibe service so I'm using their horrible 2wire with the built in wireless. I'm switching to Electronicbox 30mbps cable service (bought the Thomson DCM475 modem) and so now I need a router. I'm a little overwhelmed with the choices in routers and stuff that I don't really understand like tomato, I just want something that will allow me to stream large HD files to my Apple TV a few rooms away... I can't do that with my current setup, if I try to stream an HD version of anything I get buffering every few minutes. Any suggestions for me, I'd rather try to get something 100$ or less, but willing to go more if needed.

You mean using XBMC mode with your Apple TV 2 to play HD contents... You probably only able to play 720p... 1080p contents will be buffering because the Apple TV 2 is too weak... Don't know if Apple TV 3 is capable...
You can try to hook your Apple TV directly to router by using ethernet cable to see if you're able to play HD contents, otherwise just by different media player powerful enough to play HD contents...

Hmmm good point. I was thinking, some weeks I download Game of Thrones in HD and it works fine, and other weeks it buffers, so I'm wondering if some are 720p and some are 1080p, I figured they'd all be the same since they're all about 1.5gb for an hour.
Do I need to mind about things like dual band etc, I was looking into this one:

The reviews on Newegg seemed good!

I have the WNDR3700 and my experience is negative. It will need rebooting every week~ I am using DDWRT firmware. I am looking at another wireless router for reliability.
It uses the Atheros AR7161 CPU and I dont think is as reliable as a broadcom base router! My old WRT54GL was rock solid and uses broadcom

I replaced my trusty WRT45GL with an E4200v2 for about 2 months now. Rock solid! I also got an E3000 from Costco last week to setup as AP, so far so good.
Either one will serve you very well.
Added: E3200 $69 from NCIX sales is all good too.

Don't buy the Netgear WNDR3700. I own it and it's terrible. Keeps dropping out and the media server does not work after a firmware update. I wouldn't buy anything with the word "Netgear" on it.

Awesome, thanks guys! It would frustrate me to have to keep resetting the router, so I'll stear clear of that one. I'll look at the Linksys ones recommended!
