Nice thing is that this promo runs through June 30 and we should have full details on the Avios redemption changes on May 30. Hopefully the alterations aren’t as jarring as some are speculating - the 12,500 Avios for a one way to Hawaii from LAX, stacked with the 30% transfer bonuses from Avion, has been incredible value.

I was waiting for this, what are some countries/cities to go using these points. How about Singapore and Paris?

Asian destinations are bookable with partners like Cathay Pacific etc.

For Europe you have to avoid British Airways. They force you to fly via London and the extra charges make it useless. There are some European partners though. Google for a list and how to book.

I just checked using British Airways site via Avios points and I think they double the points required now... flying to HKG cost about 35,000 points vs what it's was when I searched in March for May flights which cost was about 12,500 points direct one way.

I fly to Japan once a year and usually book with Air Canada when they have their sale.

Is it possible to transfer over my 40k avion points to get a better deal to Narita or Haneda ?

I used Avios to fly round-trip Vancouver to Narita in Business class on Japan Airlines for around 120k Avios points and 100$ in fees. Not knowing where you are flying from makes it difficult to say.

I converted mine last year and never ended up using it :( Waiting for British Airways to retrofit their business class next year before booking anything.

I was strongly contemplating this promotion, but based on the comments above me, it doesn't seem like it's worth it. I've got about 160K points and was looking to use them for a big trip next year, and figured I could get more value out of Avios...not sure if that's the case any more.

I took “advantage “ of this last year and am regretting it, Avios availability is constantly disappointing.

Anyone else having issues transferring the points? The "Transfer To" box is empty for me when I try to transfer from the RBC site.
