In my experience, the black rubber Goodyear hoses last ten to one over the cheaper others. Little by little, I'm getting all rubber hoses, as they are spendy. But they are nice when you go to string one out, or join a couple together for a long run, and there's no leaks, and no kinks, and no damaged flimsy ends.

How bad are the Gardena hoses? They have a 100 ft line at Home Depot for $90.

Thanks for the info everyone.
I went to Rona last week during their 15% back in gc sale, but couldn't find the black one in the 100' length. They did have the 50' and noticed that it's pretty thin. I'm worried about the longevity of it.
So I decided to go to LeeValley and get their 75' (good size since it's not too long, but longer then 50'), however they're completely sold out of it. Checking again this week.

Sorry for the noob question, but are the fittings on the ends the same size, whether you get the 1/2" or the 3/4" hose?

so has anyone ordered and/received XHose yet? Just saw the commercial and haven't seen one locally, wonder if the AsSeenOnTv store or CT will carry?

I buy good quality rubber hoses...I'm not a fan of the gimicky ones i.e..from CT...The last ones I bought were $40 PC brand at Superstore. I haven't seen them this year, but any of the hardware stores should have something similar.

I saw the Xhose commercial a few weeks ago and thought it was pretty interesting. However, as skeptical as my usual self I was not going to be the first one to try it out. You know how they always manage to make the infomercial products look wonderful but the gadgets never work like how they should once you take them home. Our garden hoses are holding up pretty nicely so I will just sit here and wait for the reviews. If they receive positive reviews I may consider getting them when our hoses finally go.

I'm trying to decided between a rubber hose, and the lee valley hose. It will be going on the side of my house which will be exposed to the elements unfortunatly (unless I come up with a little cover for it?). Anyway, out of the lee valley ones is just bigger is better? I need 100' of it so should I just go for the 5/8? or find a 100' rubber hose somewhere?

^Buy two 50' rubber hoses...you can join them up or use them separately.
