The course outline is a contract between you and the school. If you decide that the demand of a doctors note in the event of a missed test was unreasonable then you and your friend should've dropped the course.
Not to be mean but use some common sense. Wouldn't everyone just skip exams when they're not ready and be able to get away with it because they claim they were "sick and did not see a doctor"?
I obviously understand that everyone can just skip an exam. But it's a bit unreasonable to ask for something that might not even be an option to begin with.
She ended up getting the doctor's note anyways. I'm just saying why does someone have to get a doctor's note if they never needed to go to the doctors to begin with?
2 years ago, someone in my friends' class at York had diarrhea and had to take a **** when they were suppose to have their midterm. If that happened at Ryerson, does Ryerson expect that person to go to the doctors and get a note?

dude doctors charge you 10-25 for a note. the rules are given, you abide by the rules. i know a ton of ppl who defer exams and just get a note. all students do this at all university, you need that note to make it acceptable, regardless of whatever illness.

All universities demand a note. I don't know where you got the idea that it's just Ryerson. If your friend with the diarrhea got excused from the exam, it was probably because it was at school and during the exam. The note is for proof that you were sick more than anything. If you agree that people can just fake being sick without a note and avoid an exam, what would you suggest the schools do to prevent such problem if the note route is not used?

Oh I know that it's not just Ryerson. I'm just saying a doctors note is not always needed for a situation. It's just questionable why one has to be brought when it doesn't have anything to do with the situation sometimes.
I'm not saying there are better ways but this part of the system is flawed and unjust for people to waste their time and money on. I had to give away a shift, a shift I really needed, so I can drive my friend to the doctors so she can pay for a note she shouldn't even have to get.

Did you do bad with his midterm? I found him to be very lenient in marking them. My friends recommend Christos Shiamptanis for ECN301. You don't have that many other options, unless someone like Eric Kam suddenly teaches it for a semester. Why not look up past profs using RAMSS? It lists all previous profs.

For those who already took FIN501, how much more difficult is it compared to FIN401? I've talked to many people and everyone one of them said 501 was much easier. Also, what about the project involved in 501, is it more simple than it seems?

501 was a lot easier...easier than FIN300. The project was pretty fun actually, its the StockTrak game where you've given fake money and you buy stocks/options/futures to see which group can make the most money by the end of the project. You also have to do a write up of strategies you utilized and then compute some statistics like beta of your portfolio and whatnot. If you want to win (or lose badly), buy futures lol.

Hah, probably. He's always on here looking for whatever he can find. See him constantly asking for other students' entire semesters worth of work, yet charging people for test banks, etc. It's funny, which is why I don't even bother.

I just completed my first year at Ryerson in the BTM program. But I am planning to appeal MKT100 for Winter semester. I have already printed and filled the form and written a letter.
Do I submit the application to the Business Management office, if not where do I submit the application?
What is the success rate of appeals?
