Looks like Rogers hired her back so they can use her for their other radio show Fan 590 and maybe Sportsnet!

Here's another neat little article about her (from Thestar.ca):
`Home-girl' Humphreys back with a bang
Dec 14, 2007 04:30 AM
Chris Zelkovich
After almost a decade of trying, the sports broadcasting establishment finally has a piece of Kathryn Humphreys.
But it only has a small piece and even that required a series of behind-the-scenes moves worthy of a soap opera.
After a month on the sidelines after what was termed a contract dispute with Citytv, Humphreys brought her unique sportscasting style back to the local station on Monday. But she'll be doing more than just conducting whacky interviews with Wade Belak.
She'll also do reports for Rogers Sportsnet's and make weekly appearances on The FAN 590 with more to come. She may even take a turn or two as a Sportsnet anchor.
"Any sort of shows they want to involve me in, for me it's icing on the cake," says Humphreys. "As long as I get to play on my beloved Citytv."
The sports world started showing interest in Humphreys not long after she started her TV career in 1996. But she spurned all suitors, partly because she didn't want to leave and partly because she didn't think her irreverent style fit in the oh-so-serious world of sports.
Over the years, she turned down every Canadian sports channel as well as sports jobs in Dallas and Chicago.
She passed on a few more during her recent hiatus and even rejected a lucrative offer from Fox Sports Net in Los Angeles a few years back.
"I was standing in my hotel room, looking over the city of L.A. and I realized that I couldn't wait to get on the plane to come home," she recalls. "And that's when I knew.
"It was the city, Citytv, family. I guess I really am just a home-girl."
Humphreys says she can't talk about what happened last month other than to say, "It was never my intention to leave. Things went awry and Rogers came and fixed it."
But sources say news boss Stephen Hurlbut played hardball in contract talks. Humphreys walked out, prompting somebody at the upper levels of Rogers to wonder why somebody had let one of the company's best assets walk.
Out went Hurlbut and back came Humphreys, with a lucrative long-term deal that will give her the national profile she deserves.
With her sense of humour and looks, she'll have fan clubs from Moose Jaw to Miramichi in no time.
But don't expect there to be a tongue-in-cheek City Kathryn and a dead-serious Sportsnet Kathryn.
"I definitely haven't changed," says Humphreys, who's married to Tragically Hip drummer Johnny Fay. "I still treat sports as if it were entertainment.
"If they want me on Sportsnet, I'm flattered. I'd absolutely love to be part of it, but it's still going to be the same Kathryn."
While that might spark a few problems if she wears a Leafs jersey on a Sportsnet set, it can't help but boost the fortunes of Rogers' properties.
