Thank you. I am going to switch my Amex to aeroplan soon as it seems to be adding up faster than air miles. Not quitting AM though as accumulating them at a very little cost is easy enough.
I am from the east coast and I live in Edmonton so I will be traveling back occasionally and hopefully be able to use my AM for it.

I just used 2550 airmiles to book a flight for three people (850 each) roundtrip from Vancouver to Castlegar over Easter. The price for the same flights through the Air Canada site totalled about $1040. Factoring the fees I had to pay for the Air Miles tickets, it still worked out to slightly more than 27 cents per Air Mile. With such great redemption values, I rarely use my miles for anything other than short haul flights. I also have no problems justifying buying groceries that I might not otherwise buy for the bonus airmiles.
[I also use my aeroplan miles exclusively for travel. I find the best use of them is for cross-country trips. I've managed to get tickets a couple of times that would otherwise have cost $1000 each for only 25000 aeroplan points (Vancouver - Charlottetown).]

Pick the best program for you and concentrate on that program.
If thats Airmiles, Aeroplan, HBC Points, SDM, or Anything.
I know tons of people who have 1000 miles or points in every program.
And they say it takes forever to redeem my points.
Another great site for Canadian deals for Airlines programs is www.rewardscanada.ca_______________

Well, my personal experiences tell me the otherwise.... I purchased over $100 back in Oct 2008. After 2 weeks it didn't show up in my account. Usually it would show up in 2 weeks for all the purchases I made since 2006. Somehow starting 2008, not only it's taking a long time and many times it just didn't show at all. I went back to Safeway to complain. The guy told me there is nothing they can do. The receipt shows the cashier did scan the 100 AM coupon. Now it's up to AM to credit my account.
IF the cashier didn't, and you have the receipt, then they will write it on their book manually and eventually the AM will show up.
I check the AM site and it says it will take up to 6 months to wait. So starting Monday in March, I will send a request to AM to get my 100 AM back. How? On the bottom page of your online account statement, there is a link to claim missing AM.
So from now on, every time I use the 100 AM coupon, I have to keep the receipt for 6 months and then file a complain.

Best items this week:
The email coupons for the Eating Right Kids products might be better this week but I will have to check the price in store before I post them here. So maybe check back on Monday to see better deals. The email coupons are here
In the flyer this week:
Buy 5 Bick's Dill Pickles for $2.50 each get 40 AM for $12.50.
Buy 5 Lucerne Coffee Creamer for $2.50 each get 40 AM for $12.50
Buy 2 Duracell Coppertop Batteries for $7.99 each get 50 AM for $15.98
And Tuesday is Customer Appreciation Day for March when you spend $35 or more 10% off or 10 X your base AMs.
BTW my missing AM was from a product I bought without a coupon and just had a blue sign._______________

100 Bonus Airmiles for prescriptions
I just thought I let everyone know, at my store (the Maple Ridge location) there is a coupon at the bottom of the single page flyer insert for 100 bonus Airmiles for a new or transfered prescription.
I am not sure if this is at other locations, I did check other stores near my store, but I did not see the insert.
Anyway, just thought I'd pass this along.

Sour cream is 2.99 for 750 ml. I pay 28.11 for 2 x 4L from my food provider for my restaurant. Buying from safeway will cost me 31.89 for same quantity but gives me over 80 air miles which is worth at least 8$. We use around 24 Liters of it per week. Will grab whatever I can get from them and gather as many AM as possible under company expenses! Will try to buy it on Tuesday and maximize my base AM.
Thanks OP._______________

Buy 5 Eating Right Kids Fruit Leather for $0.50 each get 15 AM for $2.50
Buy 2 Eating Right Kids Apple Snacks for $2.99 each get 35 AM for $5.98
Buy 2 Eating Right Kids Waffles for $2.99 each get 35 AM for $5.98
Buy 1 Eating Right Kids Juice Blends for $5.69 get 20 AM
I couldn't find the Chicken Nuggests in my store today but I seen them before and I believe they are 7.99 or 8.99 each.
On the coupon it says one bonus offer per visit. I used the Fruit Leather and the apple snacks coupon today without a problem. I guess you can't by 20 Fruit Leather for $10 and get 60 am on one transaction. But you can asked. If CS are nice they just might do it for you.
It looks like the insert is only for your Maple Ridge store. It also has a 5X your base airmiles coupon when you spend $40 all week.
People can read the Maple Ridge flyer here
And the reason why I didn't post the blades, was they had a 40 AM bonus for 8 last month. For the same price. I don't know if many people would go through blades that fast.
And most of the items on the front page of robson flyer are $1.00 cheaper.
Adding better value to the regular email Front Page Bonus AMs coupons.
You can check the robson flyer here
You might have close your browser to got to both flyers from the direct links here as I think Safeway adds a cookie of your first location._______________

LOL.. it's not about going through them fast.. they keep pretty well in storage, and don't have a best before date.
I stock up when it's a good deal.. it's better to get them when they're on sale
(net cost of ~$11 here for 8 blades), than to pay an arm and a leg when you run out and have to buy.
Ron.

I've used multiple *different* bonus offer coupons many times.. but.. a couple of weeks ago, I used the buy 2 kitchen garbage bags, get 50 Airmiles one.. I noticed she scanned it twice by mistake, and I did get 100 Airmiles. So I'm thinking you can use multiples of the same as well.
Ron.

It all depends on the casher you pick 2. Ones that are having a bad day always read every word on the coupon and follow it word for word. It seems I always pick the wrong ones. But sometimes I get lucky.
