Hey guys, just wondering if you could just disclose a percentage of salary/wage increase recently?
My company gave out around 4% increase this year. The amount is not adjusted for standards of living.
The rates you guys see in news paper about the postal worker negotiation is on top of the inflation adjustment.
So, if they say 3% incease, it means 3%+ inflation.

Nowhere did anywhere say inflation is actually 2%, the Bank of Canada is so full of it. I think if you account the gas prices and food prices etc. I think we are in at least 5% and above. I think on average most people are getting 3% without adjusting inflation. If it did, then you will not be saying 4% with adjusting inflation. If it's adjusted to inflation, I think we have maybe past 10% a year increase.
Not looking for salary increases to keep up with inflation. Looking for promotion to get up there. Not everyone is going to make it, so the ones who does will have it all. I believe the wealth have all been shifted up to the top already, so us middle class working class are screwed.
I saw some friends who don't make that much, but have rich family are doing quite well. If you are from a poor family, the no matter how much you make it's hard to keep up.

Bosses are rarely going to voluntarily give you those big increases, you have to push for it. Most of the time you'll be stuck with the standard 2-3%.
I got a 12% raise just by setting up a meeting with the VP, and pushed for it. It wasn't even mid or year end at the time.
So by the time it was year end, I got another general raise.
