why does it say the drives are 5400-7200rpm? Is it that one drive is 5400 and another is 7200? or does it vary the rpms?

No refs. I'm new here. We all started with 0 refs. I've been dealing primarily on craigslist, if that counts.

GreenPower drives reduce RPM to 5400 and spin up to 7200RPM during seek/write.

A fine-tuned balance of spin speed, transfer rate, and caching algorithms designed to deliver both significant power savings and solid performance. For each drive model, WD may use a different, invariable RPM.
