Samsung 50PNA550 1499.00 at the Brick

Just bought this at the brick. It seems like an unadvertised rate. Online states 1799.00. There were 38 in the Mississauga warehouse as of Saturday

Without going into too many details, I would recommend that you never buy anything at the Brick, even if it is the lowest price. I ordered a fridge online from them about three weeks ago and didn't notice it was damaged until after the delivery men left. After bringing me another damaged fridge and making me take three days off work for them to pick up the first one, I have not been able to get rid of the damaged fridge or get my credit card refunded. I must have spoken to at least 7 different people at the Brick, all of whom do absolutely nothing and take no responsibility.

Once I get a chance I will be calling MasterCard and the Better Business Bureau, but I can promise you that I will NEVER shop at the Brick again and would recommend that you don't either. Service is a bit part of the shopping experience and they do not offer any!

got the 42pna450 at the brick. They gave me free delivery. No problems at all...

But i can understand the warning cause everyone there seems a bit sleezy

I picked one up from Leons in Dec for $1499.

one thing I will say about BB. They open all TV over 42" for you to inspect prior to leaving the store. Company policy

Bought 2 big TVs @ BB and neither time they opened the boxes....you might have been conned if they'd done that...you know, going through the motion by opening an open-box...

Oh yeah, I have this TV @ $1350 3 months ago...nice TV but not worth the price over the 768p. Get the PN50A450 instead if you can still find one @ $900.

Interesting...this is basically the tv I'm waiting for a price drop and then I'm buying based on all the positive reviews. Can I ask you what you don't like about it?

Bought 2 big TVs @ BB and neither time they opened the boxes....you might have been conned if they'd done that...you know, going through the motion by opening an open-box...

I've bought 4 tvs at BB in the past 2 years(2 for myself, 2 for gifts) and all 4 they opened in store to do a damage check

Nice TV...don't get me wrong...It's just that with the 1360x768 50" Samsung A450 going for under $900, I feel like an idiot paying $1350

I have 1080p source and the difference is very very slight...not worth 50% more; not worth $450 more IMHO.

Hardly an idiot for buying a 50" 1080p plasma for $1350 (I did the same) it's easy after 3 months to say - Wow I shoulda bought that TV instead. I had the 450 before but at the time BB was $50 more to get the 550. I made the change and love the TV. The picture is about the same but the cabinet is better looking then the 450.

Mind you if i was buying it right now I'd be looking for the 450 as I'm betting it's round the $1K mark if not lower on sales. So $1499 is a big difference for design changes.

Intriguing. Do you both watch mostly HD cable/satellite? Blu-ray/HDDVD? DVDs?

That's exactly what I mean...back then the A450 was $1299 so the choice was easy to pick the A550 for $50 more

The choice is also easy now...A450 for $900 whenever available.
