can you even notice 1080p on a screen so small?

im still amazed by my focus at only 800x480.
text is sharp and screen looks good. ive played with a nexus and dont really see the aww.

Lets keep the speculations for now as only time will tell on May 3rd :P

I read a lot of text (mostly PDFs) and doing that on the nexus vs. the captivate (720p screen vs. 480p screen) showed how much better the nexus screen was.

But i think the font also plays some role. I have also checked out lumia 800 and the text looks fine otherwise. But needs a little zooming sometimes. It is better then the captivate though.
I believe a 1080p resolution on a 4.6 inch device will work out to 450 ppi which is indistinguishable by the naked eye. Apple terms their display "retina" at 326 ppi because it's the max that can be viewable -- anything above won't make a difference. Thus, a 1080p screen won't make a difference at all besides being able to claim it for bragging rights.

Being better able to read text on a 720p (Galaxy Nexus) vs. 480p (Captivate) makes total sense as the former has 316 ppi with the latter having 235 ppi.

You guys do realize the Qualcomm S4 dualcore is actually better than NVidia's Tegra 3 quadcore right? If samsung uses A15 dual core in S3 it will smoke the HTC One X with quadcore.

???

no one was talking about tegra 3, by quad core soc we meant exynos which has been the rumour all along

i HOPE its not tegra 3 though it seems old already :D

Pentaband? Hopefully once the quad cores roll out, the Galaxy Nexus will be in the $200s on the used market.

Even the Nexus S at the moment sells more than $200 used, I don't think G-nex will go $200 soon.

OP if you can - please update thread topic with the addition of Count Down site. So RFD users can know and not make new posts for it
