Can you imagine how desperate retailers will be to get rid of this stuff when the 2nd or 3rd gen 3D TVs are released that wont require glasses?

No glasses ???
I don't see that happening anytime soon, more likely it will be 3d without active glasses IE non powered like at the theatre but no glasses how would it pop out of the screen. I'v seen the 3d Nintendo DS it doesn't pop out at you it just looks like the picture has depth. Depth is one thing but no pop is not my idea of 3d.
Hope i'm wrong though, it would be cool.

Sorry for the thread revival.
I've seen 3D TVs that doesn't require glasses since 2007. There's nothing new there.
The technology behind it is different, but the effect is pretty much the same from what I've seen so far. By the way, the technology behind the 3DS is also different.
They will do what they do for everything else, they'll milk the current technology until most of us has a 3D at home, and then they will introduce this glasses-less 3D TV.
Pisses me off, but hey, that's business!

$1299 Less $50/$100 Credit For The Package
Best Buy has this same package this week (Flyer pg. 5), without delivery/installation for $1299. There is also the Best Buy card offer this week for a $50/$100 account credit on purchases over $300/$1500. Which would be a $50 credit on $1299 ($1249 net), or add a $200 item(s) and get a $100 credit, or see if FS will match less 10% using the after credit total.
BTW I looked at one of these for a while, and it did a really decent job with the 3D, even though 720P. Subjectively maybe even a bit better than some of the 3D LCD's I've seen on demo.Last edited by idiotcanuck; Oct 16th, 2010 at 01:12 AM.

FS is $1599, even the regular PM would make it $1270 or even better $1214$ count on BB's 50$ credit off.

Did any of you try it at FS yet?
