Reading this thread makes me want to go back... and luckily, I am planning to in August.
I was last in SF for Linux World in August 2003. Had a great time. I've been there probably a dozen times on business (mostly to San Jose), but two years ago was the first time I got a chance to actually look around the city of SF.
I am still trying to decide where to say. We stayed at the Hotel Palomar last time, but it's too rich for my blood this time, so I am looking for decent alternatives. Any recommendations?
We're planning a trip down to Big Sur as well as Napa and/or Sonoma Valley.

You have 9 days from first use to visit each attraction once and 7 days from first attraction use for unlimited Cable Car rides.
Your San Francisco CityPass includes an Option Ticket. You have the option of using ticket #2 at either Legion of Honor OR Academy of Science & Steinhart Aquarium. Once the ticket is used at one location it is not valid for use at the 2nd location.
The Blue & Gold Fleet Bay Cruise is part of the San Francisco CityPass. If you would like to substitute Blue & Gold Fleet's Alacatraz Tour for the San Francisco Bay Cruise (subject to availability) you must purchase your CityPass in advance directly through the Blue & Gold Fleet only. Their phone number is (415) 705-5555. There is a $2.25 convenience fee for this service.
I got our pkg (Air/Hotel) thru Expedia. I'll have to get back to you on the prices.
