Speaking of FS flyers, I read one on the subway and the mobile XM player caught my eye. Looks nice, but a $399 price tag sent my arousal factor wimpering away.

Satellite Radio - Opinion
Futureshop's ad is advertising these things... they look interesting, but the $13-$15/ monthly fee kills it.

The thing about satellite radio is that 90% of the stations are things you don't want and maybe 10% is what you're interested in.
It would be good if you could pick a basic package of say, 20 stations for $5 and then add packages for $1 or $2 each, so you can get just what you want or maybe add a station one at a time for 50 cents._______________
"Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent." - US President, Calvin Coolidge

It'd be good for people who frequently drive long distances so they can stay on the same station throughout the entire trip.

Nov 26th, 2005 08:52 PM #6I agree, it's just too much for a radio service. It would be cooler if it was a satellite TV service though.

Nov 27th, 2005 11:33 AM #8http://www.xmfanstore.com/ ships to Canada and has better prices (but rebates probably won't work here) but I've heard both sides of whether US radios will work on the Canadian XM. Will have to wait til it officially starts here to know for sure. Read forums at xmfan.com for more info.
