save 2cent on petro-can!!

I just found out that by using the Citibank Petro-can mastercard, you save 2cent automatically! that really good! but I had been Esso customer for so long, don't really want to switch... but than, this 2cent deal might convince me!

[rfdlink=http://forums.redflagdeals.com/autolink ... ?linkid=24]Canadian tire[/rfdlink] is better.

Buy $250 Gift card and it will give you an extra $25 Gift card. Promo code "GIFTCARD". Right off the back, 10%.

Since you use credit card to buy these gift cards, you get whatever your credit card reward gives you.

Use it in the gas bar and use the [rfdlink=http://forums.redflagdeals.com/autolink ... ?linkid=24]Canadian tire[/rfdlink] money mulitplier. You get CT money and Sobey coupon (2.5 cents per litre).

So, for $250 gas, you get:

1. $275 worth of gas (or extra $25)
2. ~$10 CT money (depends on how many litre you fill per transaction and the mulitpler)
3. ~$8.60 Sobey coupons (if gas is $0.80 per litre)
4. Whatever your credit card reward gives you. For me, using AE Costco Platinum, it will be $3.75.

No. I am driving a gas hungry mini-van. If I am driving a hybrid, the 'saving' will not be significant.

I like Gman's idea better.. the $0.02/L savings is minimal.

Even if you filled up your vehicle with 200L/month, you only saved $4 on gas. 4 friggin bucks?

I'm assuming that you have tried this, cause I'm not sure that Can Tire Gas Bars will accept Gift Cards for Gas Purchases. They don't take Can. Tire Money, that's for sure.

Please confirm that you're tried this.

Thanks.

Yes, did that many times. However, I also heard that you can use only one gift card each time.

The Citibank Petro-Points Card works better for me.

2c/Litre at the pump, = 2.5% savings (based on $.80 avg)

plus petro-points, which I convert to sears points (15,000 sears points = $600 or 4% return)

My fiance works at sears so we get 15% off all merchandise. Combo this with 40% off clearance sales and Super saturday coupons...means we get some really great deals.

Yeah, I can also confirm that the CDN Tire Gas Bar will accept gift cards for gas purchases.

And also, I've tried at two different CDN Tire Gas Bars, and they both only allowed me to use 1 gift card.

From the FAQ
You cannot return a Gift Card. It is only redeemable for merchandise and service at any [rfdlink=http://forums.redflagdeals.com/autolink ... ?linkid=24]Canadian Tire[/rfdlink] retail store or gas bar, and may not be redeemed for cash or applied as payment on any [rfdlink=http://forums.redflagdeals.com/autolink ... ?linkid=24]Canadian Tire[/rfdlink] credit account.

Did anyone tried gift card purchase with 'Money Online'?

If you can take full advantage of the CT gift card I mentioned, it is a 19% discount. Your Sears special discount is inrelevant because you can always use other kind of payment method to take advantage of that too.
