i think all his info should remain on here ... whats to stop him from scamming someone else on kijiji? -_- if he can do it once im sure after removing his info he wont be afraid to do it again. I think it should be kept to proove a point. there is nothing illegal about warning the public of the crime you have committed. Posting pictures to facebook give you no "privacy" anything you post online is shared information. Grow up and move on with your life and stop trying to cheat people out of their money.

Thanatopsis,
Why is it so hard to be honest? If you just came out and said the truth I bet you could of worked something out that would of been good for both parties.
Honestly the only reason you care now is because you have been outed. Judging by the way you spoke before I dont think you really cared about this until you had no choice.
Facebook pictures or anything else you dont set to private are now public domain. Even if after you do set them to private afterwards it doesnt change what was released.
You whole bit about legal mumbo jumbo wont fly. The other thread you refer to had pictures removed only because the police began an investigation.
If you get a police to investigate this just remember YOU ADMITTED you SCAMMED OP. You basically self incriminated yourself in an active deception of someone.
Your actions to cover up as well as your disregards of RFD rules shows you to be someone who doesnt fly straight. Your setting yourself up for a judgement against you.
You ever watch the news and notice the pictures taken off facebook of criminals who are accused of something? They used it legally. Just like here.
They can still be Googled and found. No lawyer has stopped that now have they?
Either pay OP his money or spend your money on a lawyer to try to do something he will tell you he cant do and still owe OP.
Probably cheaper to just pay up and resell the tablets.
OP- Make up your mind as what you would like to do. If you want to set up an exchange of the tablets for your money back then state that clearly now and give Thanatopsis a chance to decide if he is going to step up and refund you for a mistake he CLEARLY accepts blame for. No matter what you texted him and said as long as you have them and they are in the same shape as before you should get your money back.
If he gives you your money then this thread dies as well as all of Thanatopsis's pictures and information gets removed.
If he decides not to then everything stays because HE ADMITTED HE ACTIVELY MISLED SOMEONE.
Simple as that.Last edited by Mr980x; Feb 9th, 2012 at 07:36 PM.

I thought you "got it", but I'm not sure you've grasped it yet.
I could care less how many hours you play videogames. I don't even think CS was the correct game. I looked at your profile, and posted something designed to draw you out. Yes, the word "loser" was incorporated on purpose. Judging by what I've read here lately, I knew it would hit a nerve. Guess what.... it worked. What was the first thing that you responded to? What set your blood boiling?
Seriously, I've never met you so I have no pre-conceived ill notions towards you. Couldn't care less really. What you apparently did to the OP though was not cool.
FYI, you've threated some posters and RFD with a lawsuit, but everyone including yourself knows that's a joke. I looked at your Facebook profile too. Everything was on public display under your photos and profile page. There is no assumption of privacy when you post things online on Facebook. I thought most people knew that by now. Should you decide to pursue the silly concept that they were private, I'm sure Facebook would gladly cave to any submission from a defence attorney when subpoenaed for the pre-edited state of your profile.
Hope you and OP work things out. If you do, I'm sure stuff will be removed by choice of posters. If not, don't count on it as no laws have been broken (privacy or otherwise).
Cheers.

why do a majority of the scammers here always make blind threats about taking legal action? like seriously.... that seems to be there #1 backbone excuse of a get out of free jail card . "HA remove my information or i call lawyers" . it gets old , either do it or shut up. better yet save us and your time typing and spewing bs and dont even mention it at all.

What is the current status of this issue? Did the OP get the money back? Did Thana get charged with fraud? Is Thana still spending hours playing video games instead of hitting the gym?

I love all these young peeps and their threats of "lawyering up". Listen, unless you have 250 dollars an hour to blow out ur ass for such stupid things stfu. I know you don't and all these talks about family lawyers lolol. Unless you have a family lawyer in every field, which you obv don't then your going to referred to a lawyer that specializes in this particular field which is harassment lawsuits not to mention you now have to hire another lawyer for claims. Your 19 yrs old and play CSS allday you shoulda handled this like a man when you had the chance too. If it was clearly manufactures fault you shoulda standby your product that you obv were reselling and settled this with the manufacture. But nope you had to be greedy, selfish, and took advantage of the fact that the op was a "newbie".
What is that phrase CSS players say? Oh yea, it's....owned *****.

Whoa, that was a good read. OP, did you get your money back?
I go to York, if you want to we can hit up every wall with his picture and info to warn others. I hate scammers. I could have easily fallen for that scam too. Editing the original thread and then outright lying your face off saying that you didn't is so low. I hope karma comes flying back at you. I laughed when I saw the Criminology textbook in his BST thread, seriously dude
I am too afraid to buy things from BST, Kijiji and the likes now.
